I haven't seen him make these statements. The millions refers to compiling numbers dialed info - not wiretapping - no listening.

Where did you get the number millions that have been listened to?

agreed. it kinda bothered me when i first heard about this. but then when i thought about it, i wasnt that suprised. i think the government does this kind of stuff all the time. there is a whole lot going on that the government does that we as a civilization are kept in the dark about IMHO...

You are gonna have to trust me on this one! After awhile you only hear or listen for key words, unless its somebody you know and then it can be entertaining!

he is compiling number of everybody in the united states, which means he has already lied about the NSA's purpose. they don't know how many phones they have wiretapped. probably more than a million.

1) Not a lie. The fact that they haven't revealed to the public every intelligence tactic used is not the same as lying - if it were, we are all lying every day when we don't describe every single aspect of our lives.

2) Do you have anything to support the notion that they don't know how many phones they've wiretapped? Did Bush's dog eat the list or something?

Nobody's phone is being wiretapped. The NSA is collecting phone records only.

A wiretap has to be monitored 24/7 by a person (thats the law). What is being discussed here is impossible! But its quite comical! Don't stop smoke!

If they were in fact wiretapping everyone's phone listening for illegal activities, I'd hope that they would start with the White House and D.C. and work their way down.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. People take a set of facts, leave them open ended so that people can run wild with them and then put it in the media. I guarantee you that a lot of people think that the NSA is listening to conversations.
