Number 10 New AP Poll

Maybe the AP doesn’t get the credit it deserves. I’m shocked we’re still Top 10, but apparently the AP voters understand a lot more about basketball than our “fans” who denigrate the team on a consistent basis. Luck was heavily involved in those two losses, but there are those who want to continually blast Tennessee because of reasons I don’t understand.

LMAO, could you imagine a Top 25 poll created by the "fans" of the UT basketball team. Holy smokes, that would be glorious. They would short circuit trying to figure out what to do with all these teams that...wait for it...lose games against non-elite teams over the course of a 30 game schedule.

It’s a convoluted line of thinking, for sure.

People get upset or emotional about those games because they should have never came down to the last 3 point shot to be defeated.

One loss here or there is one thing but playing like crap multiple times in a row is what people are upset are about.

A loss here or there isn't the issue, I think it's our current form and how we're trending - along with the disappointments within those games: Lead by 6 against Florida, then go stone cold; Ugly (thankful) win against Auburn w/ abysmal shooting; then absolutely piss down our leg in the closing minute against Vandy and Mizzou... Some bad luck, no doubt, but Vols were in control and had opportunities to put their opponent away in all of those games.

Vols #1; Bama #100. Rank the rest by FT%. Maybe some players will care more!!

Being ranked 10th after two losses is definitely a "time to put up or shut up" statement from the voters in the AP. They'll willing to give Tennessee a little more room, but being competitive with Alabama and winning in Rupp are going to be critical to staying in the top 10-15.

They did, but there were circumstances beyond control that resulted in those outcomes. A few questionable player decisions, but humans make mistakes. We all do. You do and I do. Coaches can coach, but they can’t play.

It does. It’s routine because it’s basketball. Look at the college basketball this weekend. It’s not just Tennessee. It’s everywhere.
Yea, this year is down but the sec isn’t overwhelming in the bottom tier which ls where Vandy for sure is. Missouri is a solid team that loss isn’t as bad just the overall bad play of late going both sides of the ball

No offense, but you really don’t have a clue. You might not follow everything, and that’s what I choose to believe. However, your example of Vandy is just poor.

How is the example of Vandy poor they suck look at their record. I get they’re a scrappy team but they do not belong on the floor w the team as far as being in the top tier of the sec. If you think we’re a top tier team then you cannot lose to vandy. Defense is not playing good right now either and offense aside from a few games has been trash all year.

They're on a 3 game win streak and handled Florida at Florida easily on Saturday.

This team still has a good resume based on some good early and mid-season wins. I don't see them winning Wed but a loss to #1, if its a competitive game, should not drop them but a couple of places. Get blown out and we are probably in the 15-20 range. Got to get healthy. At least Barnes is pushing the buttons and turning the knobs trying to find an effective lineup.

Maybe the win against us propels them to be 17-12 or they’re about but Florida sucks too definitely not a game we should have lost. Losing to good teams is one thing but the teams we have lost to lately is not good

That ranking is in the right range after losing two last second games last week and Tennessee has the opportunity of the season to pull off a major upset Wednesday night.

I doubt that Alabama goes through the regular conference season unbeaten.

I'm probably more disappointed than anyone that we lost those games, but to say Florida - a tournament team - sucks, then you have impossibly high standards.

We're a shoe-in for the tournament, and that's what ultimately matters. Now that we're very likely out of the running for a #1 seed, I could honestly care less about the rankings. Good thing is that we still have 5 Quad 1 games left and lots of opportunity; the bad thing is we still have 5 Quad 1 games left and we're not playing the type of basketball we're capable of playing.
