Number 10 New AP Poll

Being ranked 10th after two losses is definitely a "time to put up or shut up" statement from the voters in the AP. They'll willing to give Tennessee a little more room, but being competitive with Alabama and winning in Rupp are going to be critical to staying in the top 10-15.

And to wim we have to bring our a game. If we dont both teams will beat us.

LMAO, could you imagine a Top 25 poll created by the "fans" of the UT basketball team. Holy smokes, that would be glorious. They would short circuit trying to figure out what to do with all these teams that...wait for it...lose games against non-elite teams over the course of a 30 game schedule.

I think our '98 football team might be ranked in a "fan" poll about #18 with all the other teams ranked even lower, since it wasn't that UT was good, but that the other teams were bad . . .

I'm probably more disappointed than anyone that we lost those games, but to say Florida - a tournament team - sucks, then you have impossibly high standards.
I don’t think Florida will be in the tournament possibly nit 13-12 unless the win the sec tournament I don’t see them getting in

I'm not concerned about the conference record, or what we do in the conference tournament. Bama has the regular season championship wrapped up, so that's gone. And we won the tourney last season. I just want to see us get ready to go for the ncaa tournament. We should take the rest of the season to try to increase our seeding and not worry about anything else. Let's get healthy and prepare for the national tourney. We are the kind of team that can get hot on offense and will always play tough defense, and that could get us on a roll in the ncaa. That should be our focus now.

You can get half of that back with a win on Wednesday back to about number five if we could p
Bama number 1.
Hard to believe we are ranked in the top 10 with 6 losses, 3 of which coming in the last 4 games, all of which to unranked teams. I think people have figured out under ranking us has helped us to play better, so they figured just keep us over ranked so we keep losing 🤣

ull it off.

Fair enough, though they do have as many Q1 wins as Vols and only 1 Q3 loss (no Q4 losses). The rest of their SEC schedule isn’t very menacing and they have one of the beter big men in the conference; it’ll be interesting to see how their season shakes out.

Now that I have had a couple of days to evaluate this Tennessee team that has been smacked around the past couple of weeks, I have come to the conclusion that tomorrow night is the type of game that Barnes will win and shift the narrative of this team. Do I still believe that Bama can come into TBA and win by 10+, yes I do. Do I think the Vols will be motivated to make a statement, yes I do, Do I think Vol Nation needs to schedule a group beer tasting, yes I do!

Go Vols!

I think that the status of the JJJ and JP injuries are huge. There’s just too much offense missing with Mashack filling in for them. Maybe if ON has one of his irregular offensive appearances there’s a chance. And Bama is very athletic, so perhaps Mashack’s defense has a big impact.

One or both could play tomorrow, it is day to day. I really like Mashack's game and hustle, if he develops more offensive skills, he could be a great player for the next couple of years.

Yes, their big man is impressive. I wish he was here.

Very tough game coming up, but, if the Vols beat Alabama and move up in the polls, but stay below Alabama ---as they certainly should and would ---- I suspect some of the same posters who proclaimed the Vols as "over rated" and terrible (and worse) following the Missouri loss, will come back and complain that the "biased" pollsters "hate us and always favor Bama by ranking them above the Vols." "We beat them head to head, etc."

This place can be amusing. I hope the team provides the more crazy critics an opportunity to embarrass themselves in an all new manner. Go Vols!
