I realize that was written by Breitbart, but it's strange to see Rep. Devin Nunes described as being "powerful" right now.

Since Democrats took back majority control of the House of Representatives in January of 2019, what actual "power" has Rep. Devin Nunes had? He is not the House Minority Leader (that would be Rep. Kevin McCarthy), the Minority Whip (Rep. Steve Scalise), or even the Chief Deputy Whip (Rep. Drew Ferguson). At the moment, Rep. Devin Nunes is no more powerful than any other member of the minority party in the House, and there are over 200 of them. His lack of power is especially evident since Joe Biden took office, and Rep. Nunes is no longer a preferred minion of the sitting President.

Also, Rep. Devin Nunes is from the deep blue state of California. As a conservative Republican, that leaves him without prospects for advancement to a statewide office. Republicans can't get elected to the Senate or Governorship right now, and that is a reality that won't be changing any time in the near future.

Rep. Devin Nunes has no power at all, and quite frankly, he is conducting himself like someone who has too much spare time on his hands. His legal adventure to uncover the identity of the "Devin Nunes Cow" Twitter account went on for over a year. Rep. Nunes is also suing Rachel Maddow for hurting his feelings.

Devin Nunes is nothing but a weak and pathetic loser, who needs to get himself a life.
He is the ranking member on the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and he’s on the very powerful Ways and Means committee so your whole crying diatribe is bull ****. As usual.

LMFAO sure keep telling yourself that. Every single taxation legislation by process must originate in the House and every single taxation legislation is reviewed by Ways and Means. And the standing committee on intelligence has access to every matter of intelligence within the purview of Congress.

But yeah your opinion trumps that standing 🤡

LMAO nice edit to cover your stupidity. “At the moment”

... which the Republicans and this loser Nunes do not currently control. The Chair is (D) Richard Neal. Hell, Nunes is not even the ranking member. That is Rep. Kevin Brady.

Again nice edit to lower the stupidity level. He’s ranking member on intelligence and number two on Ways and Means. But your opinion that he has no power clearly trumps that 🤡

D.C. Judge Declines to Dismiss Nunes Defamation Suit Against Washington Post

On Wednesday, Judge Carl Nichols of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia denied the Washington Post’s motion to dismiss Rep. Devin Nunes’s defamation claim against the newspaper but granted its motion to dismiss his negligence claim. The judge held that the Post’s attribution of what it called “baseless” claims that the Obama administration had spied on Trump Tower to Nunes—a claim that previous Post articles had accurately noted that Nunes had rejected—was a sufficient basis for a rational juror to find the Post had made a materially false statement with actual malice, though he noted “the question is a close one[.]” Nichols also declined to dismiss Nunes’s claims on the grounds that he had not adequately pleaded damages according to California defamation laws because, though Nunes represents a California district, his injuries were primarily suffered in Washington, D.C., making the California standard inapplicable under relevant choice of law rules. Finally, the court granted the Post’s motion to dismiss the negligence claim on the grounds that the First Amendment prevented press organizations from being held civilly liable for simple negligence and because Nunes had waived this claim by failing to respond to the Post’s motion to dismiss it.

I’m guessing BB85 is off composing his next wall of text hyperbolic screech post this time complete with links to articles which won’t even support his diatribe whatever it may be. We’re already on deflection one and only about four posts in 😂

Yes... It is funny how much that Twitter account really did seem to genuinely upset Devin Nunes. Barack Obama would have laughed along with that sort of absurd thing. Idiots like Nunes have to file law suits and try to get the Department of Justice involved with it.

... and yes, Devin Nunes really did go to such an extreme to uncover the identity of the person behind the 'Devin Nunes Cow' Twitter account. Devin Nunes is either way too sensitive, or he has too much spare time on his hands.

Had he laughed along it probably would have died in a week or two. When he showed how bad it got under his skin they doubled down.

You should go put your money where your mouth is since you’re so enamored by it. It’s just another grifter ploy so chop chop send in those $$ 😂

The only reason I'm even aware of it, is because Nunes was sensitive to it, instead of handling it the way most public officials would (who aren't thin-skinned and insecure) ... and simply ignore it, Nunes has pursued litigation which just makes him look like a pu$$y.

No you’re aware of it because it plays to your political leanings and shows up on your social media feeds as it fuels the narrative. And now they need to get paid for that service. Chop chop pay up!

Federal Judge Greenlights Nunes Lawsuit Against Washington Post

A federal judge in the nation’s capital rejected the Washington Post‘s motion to dismiss a defamation lawsuit against the newspaper from Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) late Wednesday, instead allowing the suit to proceed to discovery where the powerful California conservative will be able to gather information about the newspaper’s internal communications about the congressman and the 2016 election.

This means that Nunes, the ranking GOP member of the House Intelligence Committee, will be able to engage in discovery and seek email and other evidence including depositions of Washington Post employees involved in publishing a story about him that contained inaccurate information.

What did this have to do with the thread? Why bump it for something unrelated?
