Yeah it may be an attempt to get closer to Sewell. He might could bulk up and be a solid LB prospect, but the lack of PAC-12 offers is kinda troubling. Not being mean, but have you ever seen film that paints a player in a negative light? Generally when these level of players pop up we have missed on bigger fish.
Tisdol is a blueshirt as of right now. He’s in the same situation Anthony Harris was grades wise. We’ll still take him but he’ll count towards next classes totalI wonder if it comes down to being between Tisdale or this kid.
McDonald, Tisdale, and this kid are all about the same size and all play about the same position. Surely we don’t take all three and I sincerely doubt we git McDonald.
Vai Kaho verbally committed to in-state Nevada back in April, but his recruitment is still ‘very much open.' The prospected linebacker, who hails from Reno, N.V., trimmed his list to three with one visit left on the schedule. Nevada, Colorado and the University of Tennessee made the cut and Kaho plans to visit Rocky Top in two weeks for the Vanderbilt game. “I think I would say my recruitment is very open knowing I have an official next week to Tennessee,” Kaho said. “I’ve never been there, and I really don’t know how they found me, but I’m blessed for the opportunity.” The athlete noted he had a visit planned to San Diego State – but it fell through as he shifted his focus to three programs.
Kaho’s brother, Ale Kaho, is a sophomore linebacker for Alabama. Jeremy Pruitt and parts of his staff were involved in his recruitment to Tuscaloosa, so, the connection makes sense. The younger brother (6-foot-2, 210) picked up his Tennessee offer last month and has been in constant communication with Pruitt and assistant coach Brian Neidermeyer since. “I guess you can say I speak to one of them on a daily basis,” Kaho said. “I like that coach Pruitt is a good guy, and you can tell that. You can feel his energy radiating and it speaks a lot that a guy like that is coming after a guy like me in my city.” Pruitt has plans for Kaho – if he chooses Tennessee. The defensive-minded head coach likes the way he runs and his versatility on that side of the football. “UT wants me to play inside linebacker, but l can play all around the field. They want to use my speed as an asset. He [Pruitt] harped on me being an athlete and coming in and making an impact for the team.
“I can play inside or outside linebacker, jack or the star position where I can cover from my spot but still fill the gaps. I’m just a football player and ready to ball. I even play wide receiver and wildcat quarterback in high school.” Reno is far away. In fact, it’s over a day’s drive (non-stop) and over 2,000 miles west. Freshman linebacker Henry To’o To’o knows that feeling all too well. “Henry gave me a call once I got an offer. He’s been on me and I’ve been asking him questions. If I end up there, he’d be in my ear for sure.” The rookie has mentioned a few times this season that it’s been an adjustment period for him – moving from California to Knoxville. It’s a night and day difference in many ways, but football remains the same. “What he [Henry To’o To’o] has been telling me about how he’s adjusted being so far from home, it plays a factor for me,” Kaho said. “At the end of the day, you are there to get an opportunity and to play ball.
-VQ“If that’s where God wants me, I’ll do it. It won’t be about the distance. It’s about where I can fit in and make an impact to my teammates.” It’ll be a tough draw to lure him away from Nevada. It is home and where he’s been committed to for the past seven months. But proximity isn’t everything to Kaho – he made that abundantly clear. “I believe in my capabilities and I believe I can play with anyone. I think anybody who is a good football player believes in themselves,” Kaho said. “The biggest factor for me is to be where I can develop as both a player and person and surround myself with those who are on that same mission. Wherever that is, that’s where my heart will lead me.” Kaho is excited to visit Tennessee next weekend and will continue to evaluate his options until the early signing period begins. That is when he will make his final call. “I’m excited to check things out and I’ll continue to pray about it.”
we'll probably pass, especially since he's a hard commit and we just landed three...we'll see...
GO BIG ORANGE...BEAT THE GAMECOCKS!
I’m usually on your side but Pruitt has proven he knows talent when he sees it..... we need to get a solid football players with very few misses and we will be good again..... At that time we will start loading up on guys..... think of how Clemson has grown their program.Typical orange glasses guy that's happy with whoever we recruit -
Then wonders why we have to beat Missouri or Vandy to get to a bowl game
That's how Barnes has built the basketball team as well.I’m usually on your side but Pruitt has proven he knows talent when he sees it..... we need to get a solid football players with very few misses and we will be good again..... Recently signed 3 top 50 guys. That's how Barnes has built the basketball team as well.
You’re on fire lately.....Recently signed 3 top 50 guys.
You're right that usually during a program's upward trajectory a coach has to overachieve with good but not elite talent. Once you establish your program as a top one then you can be more ambitious with recruiting and possibly sign the best class in the country as Barnes just did.
