Notice Chaney went way more spread and pass when he got here and has previously too, as well. He's very flexible to his HC and team. Even then, he had them #4 SP+ (tempo adjusted) offense last year and 38 PPG. Now 31 PPG in Fromm's junior year lol. Coley is beyond bad.

But I think the 70s offensive mentality is Kirby thing, just like it was with Les. Hopefully he keeps bein himself lol
Yep, Chaney has shown he will run the offense that best suits his talent (unless his HC holds him back). You can look at his wide open offenses with Drew Brees and Tyler Bray or his run heavy offenses at Arky and UGA.

I think Kirby’s success his second year will hurt him. Spending time trying to recreate that instead of realizing the game is shifting away from it. Good offensive minds can adapt, like Lincoln Riley changing to more of a power run spread with Hurts. Unfortunately for Kirby, he doesn’t know offense. If he’s unwilling to adapt and give up offensive control, he won’t last much longer or his ceiling just won’t be championship level.

But I think the 70s offensive mentality is a Kirby thing, just like it was with Les. No matter the OC, the promise of change, the great QBs, he repeated the same offensive style. Great vs less talented teams, but not good enough vs talented high powered offenses. Same as Kirby has seen. Hopefully he keeps bein himself lol

Chaney is one of the Top-5 OC's anywhere.

He makes the system and plays fit his players.

It'd be kinda funny if he signed with the U
Pathetic more like it>
On CBS sports radio today. First time ever the bowl game they were in (?) a team got shut out, they fired their OC, 3 QB's they have all suck, The U is now known for Turnover sideline Chain.

Not sure about that high. Maybe top 15, jmo. I really do like him for what Pruitt wanted, I do. But he typically has needed darn good talent to really pump out points. Imo a top 5 OC can do a whole lot more with a lot less.

Top 5 guys typically end up HCs anyways. We found a guy in the sweet spot. Happy as an OC, loves ET, and is comfortable retiring here. Would not have had that, imo, with Briles or Yurcich. Long-term play.

lol I mentioned LSU before I saw this. Joe Brady should be able to land any job he wants given the progress of LSU’s offense. I think Kirby is trying to recreate old bama. The problem is that doesn’t work any more. The game has changed. Passing offenses travel better than defenses now.

Hardman was a 5* athlete. He never played WR in HS. Crazy how quick he was able to pick it up though. Fromm did well with them in 2017 and 2018, but not so well when they all left. I still think UGA’s offensive issues were a 3 part problem. Coley, inexperience/injuries to WE, and Fromm all deserve blame.

The first 2 mostly, they changed, Fromm was the same QB play calling and personel changes didnt click.

No, Stygian as in Dark or Gloomy, ie the opposite of sunshine. I enjoy calling sunshine pumpers on their BS.

At no point have I ever said “us” as I’m not employed by the university nor am I am I player on the team. Go ahead and quote the posts I said “us” This is the 2nd time I’ve been accused of going by a different screen name, Stygian is the only screen name I go by anywhere online.
As for my connection to UT I live in East Tennessee and in a football fan.

The only complaint I had with Chaney this past year is that he seemed to give up on the run too early if we got behind. Maybe he didn't fully trust our OL yet .. so maybe he won't give up on the run so quickly next year. I would put him in the top 10 of college OCs for sure .. especially if you consider he won't be looking for a HC job elsewhere.

Henry To’oto’o — The Vols sent multiple staffers to California Thursday, including Pruitt, to see To’oto’o. The intel hasn’t really changed here, via our sources. If NSD was two weeks ago, Tennessee probably would’ve landed the 4-star linebacker, but following To’oto’o’s official visit to Alabama and continued conversations with Washington, the Vols appear to be trending the other direction. Nick Saban was also out in California Thursday to see To’oto’o. It appears the Tide and Huskies are locked in a battle where To’oto’o chooses one of the two schools, and fellow California 4-star inside linebacker Daniel Heimuli goes to the other.

Just a couple of posts from Henry’s thread.

So what is the bottom line. Can someone list the reasons volnation thinks DW is coming?
1. @Atlanta VOL said he’s 90%sure
2. .........

2. DW has NOT sent a signed LOI to any school (and he never will). He will just enroll at the school of his choice in January as an EE.
3. DW and Vol coaches are purposefully putting out false info that the Vols are out of it to throw everyone off.
4. DW told UGA coaches that he plans to enroll at UGA in Jan as long as they keep it quiet.
5. DW will commit to TN at his All star game on Jan 2nd.
6. DW will enroll at TN the following week as an EE without ever signing an LOI.

This is the only path I can come up with where DW ends up at UT.

So all that is just a guess or fact?

And what he supposedly signed was a FAA?

Except I consider me and several others that don't think DW is coming, as part of "Volnation".
Newbie seems to reference everyone else as VN and appears to have joined only to make this point.
Whatever the reason for the question there really isn’t a #2. Several VNrs have said, more that once that their only reason for still thinking DW ends up a Vol is because of AV. The only other sign that could possibly point to him coming here is the amount of times he’s been here but there is nothing else standing out that points to him being a Vol, IMO.

I was referencing the board when I said volnation. In that this board is the sole site that thinks DW ends up in Knoxville

Except individual instincts.
