What you are missing is that the question is not "when did TN go after him" but rather "when did the staff NOW at TN build that relationship with him"? That my friends, is what Nieds may have been doing while at bubba. If Bama offered early, Nieds (and UT) may have the inside track.

Or you could read the article and see it’s about recruits they missed and how Theo Johnson doubted they could develop him into a NFL TE and Tank called them out for being fake.

Ball was underthrown a bit, but he's huge. He's gonna win a good bit of those matchups. He'll be a solid possession TE, good blocker, and redzone threat.

He's not like a Gronk in the sense that he's gonna take a 10 yard dig into 50 yards or routinely catching seam routes like Jimmy Graham with NO.

It’s probably the one and only Chaney who was Georgia’s former OC who would have been recruiting him as a Freshman. Not Neids.

Underthrown against a 5’7 DB..... should have been caught. However, the takeaway from this is Atleast that is something that is coachable and can be fixed. Atleast he was trying to high point the ball.

Not sure we were definitely taking a TE this cycle. We have 3 freshman TEs already on the roster and Fant who is a SO. Obviously you take an elite TE if he comes your way, but I'm not sure it's a position where we throw late offers at, unless it's a flexible athlete that can be moved if need be.

According to prior posters when we discussed this probably 100 pages ago, Todd Hartley, who is now UGA's TE coach, was formerly Miami's TE coach, and he has also been recruiting the kid a really long time too. He previously recruited another TE to Miami, that Jordan kid down there who was also from Sin City.

Pats did for awhile. Especially if you can a 2 TE system with passcatchers...but there just aren't that many in the college game.

Evans — the nation’s No. 14 overall prospect — and Washington, — the No. 10 prospect — announce their decision on Thursday in Orlando, Fla., while Ringo will announce his on Saturday in San Antonio. All three are the top-ranked player at their respective positions.

Theo Johnson said “I would be very happy to see Darnell at Georgia, just because even though he (Todd Hartley) didn’t get me, he was going to be just fine,” Johnson said. “And I know if Darnell goes there he’ll be in good hands.”
What he is basically saying is , Ga was not good enough to develop him but did not see a problem with DW being in good hands with Ga. Maybe DW is as smart as TJ and sees the same thing. Either way, he can go to Ga and be a blocking TE or he can go to Tn and get developed and see the ball. We are getting ready to find out just how smart he is. I still think he picks Navy since they pass a lot lol
