NY6

I think given that there's going to be (most likely) 3 two-loss SEC teams, Alabama, LSU, and Tennessee, I'd imagine that LSU will be the first pick if they play decently well against Georgia, then Alabama, then us.
This. If anything Alabama is going to the sugar bowl seeing how they will stay ranked higher than us after this horrendous loss. Also LSU finishing 2nd in the SEC will give them a better bowl than us as well I would assume, so I don't think we are getting a NY6 bowl this year.

Isnt the Cotton Bowl ranked higher than the Sugar this year ?

According to the selection process of the sugar bowl the sec champion is an automatic qualifier unless they are in the cfp semifinals. Then the next highest ranked sec team is selected.

If we beat vandy, and Georgia beats lsu, I believe that leaves us as the next highest ranked sec team by virtue of beating lsu head to head.
Bama

They will both be ranked higher than us and that’s what they go off of. Believe what you want to believe but Tennessee will not be going to a NY6 bowl game.
Agree here. Bama at a minimum will be ahead. Vols gonna vols. Lsu won't if the lose to UGA

Where do we stand now , moving forward in the bowl picture ? 10-2 If we beat Vandy is still a very respectable season ! Do we make a NY6 bowl ?
We should be the second pick coming out of the SEC , we beat Bama and LSU .
Bama will be be ahead of us in the bowl pecking order for sure. I do not expect us to be in a NY6 bowl now, but probably the first one after the NY6.

We need some help. I think Orange bowl is still in tact. Utah, UNC, and Ole Miss losing helps us. I really hope we stay inside top 12. If we somehow stay top 12 and LSU loses, we should have shot at a NY6 game. Even if they win, we might have a shot. USC losing would help too

If LSU is a 2 loss team, they are likely in the playoffs now. LSU is probably going to be a 3 loss team though after they play GA.

Doesn’t matter. It’s about the rankings.

No it's not, it comes down to money. Would they rather have a 2 loss TN that fans will be exited to see in a NY6 bowl or Alabama where the fans don't give a damn about those bowls. I've heard tons of Ala fans say they don't have to worry about taking off or traveling in January.

It is about the rankings. The CFP selects the teams. Y’all need to get real lol

I should have said regular season loses.

I don't think LSU losing to Georgia in the SECCG will count against them too much on the eyes of the selection committee as long as they don't lose poorly.
The SEC Championship loss will have an effect on whichever team loses. Assuming it is LSU. it will depend on if they stay ranked ahead of us on if they get a bowl pick before us or not.

That’s what happens after the CFP selects teams for the other bowls.
It happens before as well. It doesn't have an effect on the 4 playoff teams (other than seeding), but it happens for the committee games which are not playoff births as well.
