O&W game recap and play by play..

Thanks a ton for the recap...I just got home and couldn't wait to hear about the game. Sounds like Ainge got his head back on....watch out sec, here come the mighty vols!

A couple of quotes from the Coaches...

Cutcliffe on Ainge
"I was really pleased with Erik managing the game, his accuracy, and being on time for the most part, that was positive.

"It's something to build off of. He's starting to earn that (confidence). He knows what he's doing and he's comfortable with what we're doing. That was good to see today."

Fulmer on the game
"I think you can describe the spring as a success for one reason, our kids learned how to work again -- as hard as they're supposed to and at the tempo they're supposed to. If we'll stay that course, and make the improvements at the positions where we need some improvements, we'll get there."

Overall, I'm pretty pleased with what was accomplished today.

Obviously Ainge had a solid performance and our secondary isn't too shabby. So that's even more impressive that Ainge did what he did. He made smart decisions too. He pulled the ball down and ran when nothing was open and he didn't force anything. He took the sack instead of throwing it up for grabs. Cut is definitely helping there..

Meachem had a great day with over 100 yards and 2 TD receptions. Hopefully he will be able to continue that..

The RB's didn't do that much, but they picked up some good first downs. Can't wait for Foster to get in there. That will help a lot..

Wihoit was booming them into the endzone on the kickoffs and made all of his field goals..

The linebackers were all over the place..

The secondary had a couple of picks and a couple of coverage sacks..

It sounds like the special teams could still use a little more work..

Some other players used their playing time well..

All in all, it's good momentum going into the summer.

Let's hope there aren't any stupid injuries or players in trouble in this stretch.

i think your making too much out of it. its only one game.

I don't know, I just thought there were a lot of positives today. That's the last scrimmage for the Spring. Now the real waiting begins..

Talk about football while you can oklavol.

I think you should start by saying something positive about Ainge's game today.

To borrow and make a small change to a quote from the Bible.

"It would be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle that for OKIE to make a positive comment about Erik Ainge".

Eric Ainge is my hero. Love that guy.

The kid as a freshman threw that ball like a bullet, awesome velocity, very good accuracy. He's stumbled some and got off track.....but if he gets his head straight and the footwork too...our Rifleman may shred the schedule! I can't wait :dance2:
