OBAMA FIRES A 'ROBIN HOOD' WARNING SHOT - New York Post

"Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn't it?" the blue-collar worker asked.
After Obama responded that it would, Wurzelbacher continued: "I've worked hard . . . I work 10 to 12 hours a day and I'm buying this company and I'm going to continue working that way. I'm getting taxed more and more while fulfilling the American Dream."
"It's not that I want to punish your success," Obama told him. "I want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they've got a chance for success, too.
Then, Obama explained his trickle-up theory of economics.
"My attitude is that if the economy's good for folks from the bottom up, it's gonna be good for everybody. I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."

Thoughts?

Obama's a socialist and an economic idiot despite the fact that Warren Buffet is on his team.

His policies will not create a single private sector job, they will substantially reduce them though and either force more people into government jobs or on government programs.

Hopefully McCain has the ability to get Obama to say this in the face-to-face debate tonight. Of course there's never been a secret that Obama's plan is to raise taxes on incomes over $250K/yr.

To Hell with this crap.

I'm quitting my job, and going on welfare.

Why should any working American strive to do better? So this socialist SOB can give it to the lazy asses that he has promised free money.

I take it you think GWB is as well?

no, GWB at least understands capitalism and that cutting taxes on both businesses and individuals generates more revenue than raising taxes.

it was idiotic of him to take the increased revenues to the treasury and piss them away in, among other things, a massive prescription drug entitlement program.

That's his plan in a nutshell. Here, things are tough for you, you're clearly incapable of running your own life, let the government do it for you. While you give all your money, freedom and possessions to the government

the dirty little secret is that this is a lie too and Obama's massive spending proposals will force that number well below 150k.

Has it ever occured to you that maybe, just maybe....there are people who are on welfare that aren't lazy, and actually need it to get by for awhile?

I know somebody personally that was on welfare because they needed to escape an abusive situation at home. She now has a job and contributes to society.

I guess she should have just been left out on the street, and not given the chance?

Key words in bold.

There are few million Obamamites out there that are third and fourth generations of feeding from the public trough.

you will find very few on my side that will argue against a safety net of some kind. Our argument isn't with the situations you describe. It's with the generational welfare families that you see in every part of the country.

no, GWB at least understands capitalism and that cutting taxes on both businesses and individuals generates more revenue than raising taxes.

Right, and when it doesn't work, he supports a program of socializing the losses with a massive bail-out.

it was idiotic of him to take the increased revenues to the treasury and piss them away in, among other things, a massive prescription drug entitlement program

And I guess this isn't socialization or evidence of economic idiocy either.....

capitalism works just fine, and would have worked in the mortgage business if the banks weren't FORCED BY DEMOCRATS to give mortgages to unqualified applicants.

We agree then, but I think the generational welfare families argument is a bit overplayed. I would guess the vast majority of welfare cases are temporary, not permanent as you suggest. I agree the abuses of the system need to be rotted out. If you show me where in Obama's platform he supports the abuses you cite, then you will have a point. All he supports is what you agree with, a safety net of some sort.

Well smart guy, here's one for you: While Exxon has made record profits and had their taxes reduced, they have sliced their workforce. :eek:hmy:

In our current climate with our economic indicators being so far out of whack with one another, it is going to be difficult for our economy to recover properly by applying standard economic policies.

To suggest more people are going to be on welfare as a result of Obama taking office is abusurd and quite frankly, a totally uninformed statement. I am fairly confident Obama has a better handle on ecomomic matters than McCain and the fact he has Buffet as an advisor, gives me more confidence.
