I believe he may have won the 'hero of the soviet union' award for liberating some concentration camp in Poland.

I would hope most. Especially the president.

He's the 44th president? That's a small/elite group. I would hope our president is knowledgeable about our country's history. Pretty sure every middle school history teacher in the country knows. How do you become a politician for your country and not know about your country?

When Palin spoke of Paul Revere warning the British they were in for a fight if they continued with their campaign of suppression and oppressive taxes against the colonists, she was drawing a parrallel to the present time and the manner in which our own government (then controlled exclusively by the democrat party), was trending, the media went beserk with a story line somewhat like; 'Palin is accusing the great patriot Revere of being a traitor, she has it all wrong, Palin is stupid.'

As a matter of fact Palin was historically correct, while Revere was riding to warn the colonists which was the British were approaching, (they already knew the British were coming, they just didn't know exactly their battle plan,) he was briefly detained and warned them they should not carry through unless they wanted a fight on their hands.

If Obama had made the same statement the media would have been; 'Paul Revere tried to avoid bloodshed, Obama is like Revere, a great peacemaker, no wonder he won the Nobel Peace prize.'
