that's what the article is saying. the article breaks down the expenses. they rented the WHOLE Taj ma hal, 500 rooms i believe. bringing 3000 people with 40 planes i believe.

The worst thing that could happen is for the republicans to take Congress and the Presidency in two years. The government operates better when there are opposing parties in the executive and legislative branches. In my lifetime, it has been a disaster when one party controls both.

I call BS on the article. There is no way the POTUS is going to spend 200,000,000 a day on a trip, taking his friends with him. Regardless of the fact we might disagree with Obama on all issues, no way he would spend this kind of money on he and his friends.

Says a lot about this country and its people that we have citizens who actually believe such BS.

I think the article can be correct. when you rent out an entire 500 room hotel for that many days plus taking into account the salaries of the people who is coming with him. I think the biggest amount will be that of his security on land and offshore. its all about how they figure the 200 mil. mark. but i would say its accurate

NDTV is a major player in the national broadcast news in India. Probably the equivalent of CNN or FNC. Why would you doubt their numbers? Did you see the cost of the First Lady's trip to Spain? The President's contingent is vastly larger.

That is not $200 million for the trip. That is $200 million a day. He is going to have 40 Air Force aircraft, including both 747 aircraft that we typically know as Air Force One. Other aircraft are support aircraft needed to fly in three Marine helicopters (Marine One) for the President. There will be six limousines, plus presumably other vehicles for the Secret Service detail. According to press reports, there will be a party of three hundred with him. Some reports simply call them friends of his, in which case, the actual entourage would be much larger as that would not include the President’s support staff, First Lady’s support staff, etc.
