what does Russian aid to Iran, Venezuela and Cuba have to do with the fact that the Cold War is over and that India is now an ally? Obviously, India isn't as close an ally as Canada or Great Britain, but equating them with Venezuela and Iran is gross idiocy.

I'm pretty sure those 200 CEO's are smart enough to figure that out on their own. They are probably along for the trip because it looks good for them to be seen with the President on a trade mission to a major economic power.

How do you read in that I'm equating India and Venezuela? (although in the future with the right people in power they might just nationalize American investements there as Venezuela has.)

What I said was that Russia continues to promote anti-American, anti-free enterprise socialism on a world wide basis. Saying the cold war is history is nearly as bad as calling islam the religion of peace.

We are quibling over semantics, cold war or not, it is about an ideological war of government run socialism vs a free market economy.

Could be they might be looking for cheap labor in a country in which 86% live on $2 or less per day and 44% live on $1 or less per day, perhaps Obama can eventually get the American unemployment numbers of his idol FDR. What was that, around 25%?

The Saudi king takes his annual vacation to Spain on $6 m per day and Obama is spening $200 m per day??

That is close to $700,000 per person per day and now doubt that doesn't include all the costs. (If 300 people, if 3,000 then nearly $70,000 per day per person, which is still rather steep, New Delhi TV is reportedly reporting 3,000 and I wouldn't think you would need forty planes to carry 300 people.)

What would you say would be the real purpose of the visit to India? (aside from promoting good relations with Sikhs.)

We made the Louisianna purchase and bought Alaska for less than what Barry is spending in India.

I'm not w fan of Obama, but this is really a non-issue. Preidents travel and spend money. I am sure it's in the budget.
