BREITBART.COM - S. Carolina Black Leaders Back Clinton

well, this is an interesting development.

Two key black political leaders in South Carolina who backed John Edwards in 2004 said Tuesday they are supporting Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.

State Sens. Robert Ford and Darrell Jackson told The Associated Press they believe Clinton is the only Democrat who can win the presidency. Both said they had been courted by Illinois Sen. Barack Obama; Ford said Obama winning the primary would drag down the rest of the party.

Seeing how these groups tend to stick to ideology only to waste money on a losing horse, they are all sticking to backing the frontrunner as long as this person is a viable shot. Honestly Edwards shot his load too early by running last time. He should have stayed to the middle and ran for re-election in the Senate and then made his move in THIS election. By being paired with Kerry and moving so far to the left, he's fallen into the has-been category.

If this is true, then why do some speculate that Al Gore would be a shoe-in?

Gore still is riding on the stolen election concept. He's still the President according to many. He'd merely be running for re-election rather than for a second attempt.

If you objectively look at it can you really see a President Barack Obama? And we(USA) will be a joke if the Clintons are back in the office.

The USA is already a joke before the world. Bringing the Clintons back cannot do much more damage with our image.

I could give a rat's ass about our image around the world. I realize it's important but there are few countries out there that have any better leg to stand on reputation-wise.

I could care less as well. I just commented on the previous post that DID bring up our image and reputation. On the flipside is it smart in this global economy to not only piss off the foreign governments but the businesses within those nations? Is it truly smart to just have a cowboy attitude and "damn the rest of them and what they think" mentality? Yeah, that was fine 50 years ago. But now we're plugged into this global mindset.

I didn't mean to aim this at you - just picking up on the idea of being a joke internationally.

As I've commented before - Bush's cowboy diplomacy is too harsh (an overreaction to 9/11) and Clinton's "I'm Okay, You're Okay" diplomacy was too weak. I'm afraid will be heading back the Clinton way soon.

IIRC, Edwards had a big chance of losing re-election and that would have done more damage than losing the Pres. race. He was advised to run because of this. (hope I have that straight but I've been wrong before :p)

The issue with Edwards is that he focused on running for President too early. He had advisors telling him forget NC and turn left. Some of his local advisors told him to stay right/moderate to soldify NC base and then move left if need be closer to the primaries. He moved too far left too quickly. Same issue with Romney. Did he basically flip all of his issues too quickly that it made him look fake and obvious?

I don't know whether Hillary would move to Bill's line of diplomacy. She's the independent woman type and would have no qualms about standing her ground internationally rather than pander to those who elect her. She's big on legacies and staying in office. So she will give 110% aggressiveness abroad and pander here at home. I'm sure Jews are a little nervous since she's made some pretty pro-Palestinian comments in the past.

Edwards and Biden were done before they ever started. Candidates like these are amusing to watch, just to see the implosion.
