And I would put money on it that either he or some big campaign donor will benefit directly from this railroad being built.

Don't get me wrong, this is not a democrat or republican thing, this is just what politics has devolved into.

actually the road from LA to vegas is a nightmare and desperately needs to be widened since those are major trucking routes. that sounds like as good as an infrastructure project as anything. not saying that isn't pork though.

I'm sure it will help somewhat. I'm just wondering what campaign donor is going to benefit the most.

it won't work, period.

the New Deal didn't work. FDR's own Treasury Secretary stated that all the spending had done nothing but make things worse.

Japan's "Lost Decade" was made worse by massive government infrastructure spending.

Keynesian economics is flat out wrong. There is no way a country can spend itself into prosperity. If that were true, France would be an economic powerhouse instead of the basket case it truly is.

I did not want him as my pres but hope for the US he succeeds. But I think he could do ok if somebody could shut up palosi, Ried and Frank. They are the real prob in my eyes. They are trying to shove this liberal way of thinking down our throats and Frank is the main one except the CEO's that caused a lot of this mess because of the Fannie and Freddie crap. Obama wants to run in the center "I think", at least he wants to so he can have a second term. But if he listens to these fools much more he won't have a chance. Polosi makes me sick everytime I see her on tv, I wish someone could kick her out and send her back to CA. Also just want to ad this stimulus bill they just passed is a joke and I have not seen much of the change we all heard about.

Interestingly enough, had Hillary won the Dem primaries, Huckabee would have been my choice. But, my guy won, and is now in the White House.

If there was any conservative I'd vote for, you'd need to take a look towards the great state of Louisiana, and their governor. No way I'd vote for Palin, Romney would be a slim possibility, McCain I'd vote for(the one who didn't bow before the base of the party). Ron Paul would be an interesting choice for the GOP, simply because most mainstream politicians view him as a little out there, yet in most every informal count, Paul usually comes out on top. I'd consider Paul.

The fact we are wasting so much borrowed money is totally idiotic....I still can't believe it. I hope we can pull out of this mess but this "stimulus" doesn't appear to be much help and with that amount of debt we may not have another good shot at turning this around. What was the big rush, a few days or week to actually read what congress was voting on? I think it was a total SCAM.

The plan was passed today. So where can I get an outlook on what this will all include. I know something like $13.00 more per paycheck. The $8,000 home tax credit is huge for me, since my Fiancee and I are buying a home in a few months. So will we get an $8 k check next year, is that what this means? lol

I fail to see the logic in that as well. Funny how obama went on and on about earmarks during his campaign yet the stimulus bill is eat up with them.
