Obama to address the Nation. (Osama bin Laden is dead)

I'm finding it difficult to stay balanced between whats PC and how I really feel about allowing any of his religious rights upon the event of his burial. Its not as black and white for me as it is for some people.

I think plenty of people have mixed feelings about it, but we as a country don't really have a choice.

By respecting his religious beliefs, it shows America is better than them.

I really could care less whether we gave him a proper burial or fed him to crows, all I care about is that he is dead.

It's not a mockery. It's a just punishment for vicious, unrighteous actions.

Death is the punishment, desecrating the body does nothing to him, he's already dead. But, it does give the extremists fuel to motivate the masses against us. They, as in the majority of the Muslim world, understand and agree that we had to get him at some point, but they could not abide this insult. Since we could not give the body over to any Muslim and expect it not to be enshrined, treating the body humanely and respecting their customs allows the moderates to stay on our side, or at least neutral. Why are you so against that, have you not had your chance to fight yet? I have and appreciate having friends.

ok failing to see the point of your response then. . .

You said you bet they were big fans already. I know you were being sarcastic but I was just saying in reality we have many millions of Muslim friends around the world. I never said they would be outraged by killing UBL, but they would be outraged if we then desecrated the body. One is due justice, the other is a direct insult the the ones still living (and I'm not talking about the radicals, they will always hate us and need to follow Bin Laden as soon as possible. I'm talking about the moderate Muslims, about 1.5 billion of them).

Because I think they are silent but not neutral and this would weed them out.

Pakistan was "on our side" yet we killed Bin Laden living well within a football field of their military academy.

Understand your point but I've met too many who are vocally on our side to want to use this tactic to weed out the few who may be silent and radical.

That said, from my view it was a great day and handled very well by our side, now I'm off to other things. Enjoy the debate.

If they actually buried him how many fools would get slaughtered trying to visit the burial site. Aside from that nobody wanted the body.

are you arguing we did or did not respect their customs?

So, 1.5 billion Muslims already dislike America, as proven by the fact that bin Laden was found in Abbottabad...?

By touching pigs, their bodies are contaminated and will not be accepted into their version of Heaven

Oh, I know why. I just enjoy seeing him avoid my question. The choice of animal is directly related to its place in Islam.
