Obama to decline public financing

What is the point of posting links to liberal blogs? I mean I can post links to National Review, Worl Net etc, but are you really going to read what they ahve to say?

then point me to a completely neutral source that says Obama lies more brazenly than McCain does. And then MG and I can resolve our discussion. Otherwise, I present you with sources that show the other side of the issue (there are two sides, you know).

1) I'm continually trying to balance the criticism on here. If I felt both candidates were getting the same treatment on this board, I wouldn't speak up.

I've fully acknowledged Obama's mistakes in other threads - look 'em up if you want to.

I don't think he's perfect. I do think he's a pretty darn good candidate though.

2) Keep up with the campaign.

All Aboard the McCain Express

No, you act like we shouldn't criticise Obama for anything. If you think he's a good candidate, terrific. I and a lot of others don't feel the same, and will continue to say so. He's basically speaking out both sides of his mouth, which tends to make people believe perhaps he isn't that different after all. trust me, his policies alone scare me enough to never vote for someone like him.
Quite frankly, I've yet to see anyone provide evidence on here or elsewhere on how is policies will be good for the country. When asked, I usually get a "Bush sucks".

There are always two sides, I agree, and trust me I'm no great supporter of McCain. I just think most blogs tend to distort the truth, not give a fair and accurate story.

you're deflecting away from my original point. Obama lied as to why he has decided to forego public financing. You spun it saying he's just "in it to win it." but he blatantly lied when citing the reason was the threat of republican 527's, which have shown no indication that they're even going to support McCain.

So now his lie is his rationale for keeping his fundraising advantage?

Do you really care what his rationale is?

Are you worried he's going to raise more money than McCain?

yes, his rationale is based on a lie. If he wants to be consistent, he will tell George Soros to call of his moveon.org attack dogs.

no, not really. Obama is a liar, just like all socialists.

no need to worry, he already has raised more money than McCain.

No - I'm saying that we shouldn't act like he's the only one who does this type of political maneuvering.

News flash - they're both politicians.
that flies in the face of one huge premise of his campaign.

Also undermines this "great leader spurring people to action" delusion that you listed amongst a bunch of other irrelevant "Obama pros" previously.

Do you honestly believe that the Obama camp was strategizing on this issue, saying to each other, "we really need to decline public financing so we can catch up with McCain on the 527's that he's going to bring in"?

Come on. You know that was just his public response to declining public funding. Don't get all Lindsay Graham on us and act like you're personally still disappointed that "he's got all this talent and he's fallen so fast."

We've talked about this before. He's got an advantage in fundraising, and he went against his word to keep that advantage. Obviously he thinks he needs to maintain this advantage to win.

News flash: Obama wants to win this election.

His persona as a post-racial, post-political figure is an often cited reason for his popularity. He's demonstrating once again that this persona doesn't match the reality.

Put more succinctly, I don't think this is the "change" his followers were "hoping" for. :p
