With a statement such as this, that we are fighting a war with 'terrorism' per se, is an assertion that you support indefinite detention of these persons without ever allowing them a day in court.
What's the matter with the military tribunal solution?
If he does, it will be unfortunate. However, under GWB, plenty of insurgents were released back to the Government of Iraq from US detention centers in Iraq and many of these insurgents were quickly released by the GOI. Obama using the release of prisoners to potentially barter puts him in line with every other American President during a period of war.
We didn't release German prisoners until the end of WWII.
Do you really think this will benefit us in some way?
Stripping someone of their freedoms for the rest of their life without any due process is wrong. It is one thing to react in imminent self-defense and shoot and kill another person in battle. That can be excused. It is another thing to coldly strip that persons life away when they are not posing an imminent threat.
As long as we are engaged in this conflict it would seem idiotic to release individuals who will go right back to killing our soldiers, we might as well buy them guns and amunition while we are at it.
No; it is West. You start beating on an unarmed and defenseless individual and you are a scumbag.
West didn't beat on him, however he did convince him he was going to kill him if he didn't reveal the details of the planned ambush thereby preventing his own men from being shot up and possible killed.
Obviously you and I have far different ideas as to what a scumbag is and fortunately the majority of the voters in West's congressional district agree me rather than you.
let's just say they are both scumbags.
By both do you mean Unreal and Milo?
Obama Thinks Americans Are Stupid, Will Believe Taliban Will Abandon Terrorism at Pat Dollard
Last year Washington opened secret negotiations with the Taliban exploring their willingness to enter into peace talks ahead of the presidential election.
U.S. conversations with Taliban representatives have focused on establishing the Taliban office in Qatar and prisoner exchanges. The Taliban are seeking the release of five prisoners from the U.S. military prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, including Khairullah Khairkhwa, the former governor of Herat province, and Mullah Mohammed Fasl, a top Taliban commander.
Ludin expressed the Afghan governments support in getting a Taliban political office opened in Qatar and said it also would back an American decision to transfer some Taliban detainees from the U.S. military prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, to Qatar.
TAQIYAH OR THE DOCTRINE OF HOLY HYPOCRISY
The doctrine of holy hypocrisy (Taqiyah) which requires Shiahs to conceal and disguise their true beliefs, operates in every department of their lives. Hypocrisy or Nifaaq permeates the veins of Shiahs like blood flows through the body. The following narrations will also assist readers to understand the notoriety of this doctrine of fraud and hypocrisy.
