Well then we should legalize murder as well, since it will happen anyway.

You already have.. A few states still think it's justice in taking a man's life for his actions.. Is it really our place to kill other men for what they did. How can many christians believe in the death penalty when the judgment of his decisions should lie in his maker.. It's not our right to kill another man because of what he did. Two wrongs don't make a right..

A citizen killing another is wrong but the government killing in retribution is right....

That's your opinion, I believe in making them serve life sentences for their actions.. Killing them will not help their cause for remembering what they did.. Make them live with what they did for the rest of their lives and let "god" pass judgment on them.. Killing them doesn't make things better.. And you wonder why almost every state has abolished this act?? What say you CSpin?

So we should give them shelter, food, cable TV, internet and unlimited access to educational material in prison? What about the life/lives they ended so quickly? I would rather them meet judgement day a little quicker than most.

As for your death penalty stats, you really need to check your facts on who still has it on the books.

i cannot believe there are those of you out there that honestly believe that monster in florida does not deserve to be executed. bundy, gacy, charlie manson. all these monsters gave up their rights when they took the lives of innocent people. murder's should have no rights as American citizens. they gave their rights up when they took the rights of the people they murdered.

I'm telling you, from now on, send them to Iraq as long as the U.S is there. That's the kind of crazy we need to win this "war"..

I didn't mean to come off as you took it, I'm just looking for a nice debate. And as for the statistics regarding the number of states, ok so in reality there are still more states that havn't outlawed it.. But that will be changed probably in the future.. Even the states that still allow it don't use it very often. I know Texas does and a few others do it quite frequently it seems. But, most states are very careful when sentenceing the death penalty. Sorry to disappoint you pj, but it is likely that one day we won't have a death penalty in place.. And I hope to see it.

I like OWB's idea in sending them to Iraq.. It actaully seems pretty rational if you ask me.

I sure will, and once again, I'm not for abortion. But, I do think it's their choice to make and nobody else's.. Many will still do it no matter what the government says. Why not make it easier for them by taking a simple pill. They are not killing babies like you make it about to be. It's a proven fact that they are not living and breathing things that you claim them to be.

Here's something else to look at while you're deciding:

Week Nine

  • Baby has begun movement - While still too small for you to feel, your little one is wriggling, shifting, and dancing already! Makes you almost wish for a window to peek in whenever you want!
  • Most joints are formed now - and trust that your little one is practicing bending and flexing.
  • Fetus will curve its fingers around an object placed in the palm of its hand - This is amazing to see! At only nine weeks, if you happen to have an ultrasound, you may observe your infant fascinated by everything he or she can lay their fingers on (mainly other fingers, toes, ears and nose!
  • Fingerprints are already evident in the skin
  • Average size this week -- length 0.9 inch (2.3cm), weight 0.07 ounce (2gm)
I think most people who feel a baby isn't a baby until it's born or whatever must not be parents and must have never had the joy of being involved from day 0. I guess I felt that way until we had our daughter. Rape isn't right, but neither is abortion. These little guys are people no matter how you look at it, scientifically or from a biblical standpoint.

I'm 19, so most of the information I have gathered from this matter is from teachers, firends, and old science books.. But now after reading a recent article, my opinion is starting to change.. I definately see why you feel strongly on this subject.. I didn't know some of the facts you just displayed to me.. It's got me starting to question abortion as well.. This is why I come on this board.. Most people around me could care less about politics.. Much less know about them..

i do support the morning after pill. the pill if taken right after sex will prevent conception from taking place. you cannot kill a baby when a baby is not there to kill. now you do have some religions out there that strongly oppose this pill. i happen to not be one of them. im all for birth control. this pill will stop conception from happening. but one egg and sperm meet i believe it has become a human being and deserves the right to life. im allergic to bee stings. if i get stung i have to get a shot or i will die. my mom is the same way. a few years back a swarm or honey bees built a comb between two walls of my parents house. my mom naturally called the exterminator to come and kill the bees. she was told by him that he would go to jail if he killed the bees because they are protected under our laws. it didnt matter that if my mom was stung that she could die. she had to get special permission from the USFD to get the bees removed by a bee handler. now im sorry but to me this is upside down crazy. a honey bee's life is more important than my mothers and more protected than the life of an unborn child?!!!! i despise bigots and relegious fanatics but cases such as abortion will always force me to vote republican. not saying that the republicans dont have their fair share of pro-abortion supporters, but as a party and a platform they oppose it. find me a conservitive, pro-life democrat and i could support them. but i will never support a party who cherishes the values of PETA more than the life of an unborn child......

I do not see how you folks are against capital punishment (ie. the government executing a convicted murderer) but for the killing of unborn innocents on demand.

How exactly do you come up with that position? Years of liberal education and thinly veiled propaganda in the media (movies, TV, etc.)?

The prince of darkness is always a gentleman Godfatha, and his lies and deceipt are alive and well in our country. A liar always believes everone lies. A thief always believes everyone steals. If you feed a lie or a misconception to people long enough they will start to believe it to be the truth. in medical school the instructors changed the name of a human body to a cadaver because students were having a difficult time with dissecting human bodies. The same occured with the term fetus. It is much easier to kill something if you take the human element away from it. The only people who would defend and evil human (Hitler, Saddam, Bundy, Gacy, etc.) would have to have some part of evil or misconception inside themselves......

Since it can be taken up to 72 hrs after, the morning after pill does not prevent conception but prevents the fertilized egg from attaching to the lining of the uterus. This will kill it and by your definition is "abortion". Not making a judgment but it's a common misconception.

well i do know that after i had been raped and went to the hospital that i had 48hrs to stop conception. now this was told to me by the nurses and doctors at womac army hospital at ft. bragg. im a ministers daughter and there is no way i would have allowed them to preform any procedure that would have been concidered an abortion. you may be right on the morning after pill if im wrong i do apologize, but it does take 48hrs for conception to take place and from what i have learned about the morning after pill it stops conception within this 48hr. time period.

It is a tragedy I wish on nobody. However, you don't reconcile that by killing your child.

Unless its you body and mind that was raped then you have no say.
I have no idea what it feels like and neither do you.

Don't go there. The whole, "if you haven't done it you can't talk about it" thing never holds water.
