Obamacare Survives SCOTUS

So those are the knobs to turn and see. I can’t see how $1M is even a real number but I don’t know. I postulated a yearly window on an event basis (say the event crosses calendar year boundary) for this so $1M sounds really high even. I’d guess it would be in $XXXk kinda max limits.

You said yearly...my brain went lifetime. My error. I apologize. Thanks for the correction. Yearly would definitely have more impact. Probably none of us are educated enough to know the sweet spot but I agree, $1M is too high to have an impact

Why? You afraid I'll catch you trying to strawman an argument you think applies to the conversation, but doesn't? Again.
Ok thanks for confirming you actually don’t want to talk about possible solutions you just want to bitch so I guess you’re dismissed.

Anytime you have “… of last resort” invoked it’s going to wind up in a government’s lap. We are there today with Medicaid for states for people in poverty brackets. Lender of last resort, buyer of last resort… insurer of last resort?

I’m not even sure I like this idea honestly. My kicked dog syndrome makes me think it would me used as yet another step to single payer. But the only way I see to reduce insurance costs is really to limit insurer costs to some degree. And this does provide for private insurers to present their various family of products. So…

I don't believe that he thinks you're a "qualified captain" to be able to rent a sailboat in the caribbean, you endanger lives, but that's my hypothesis. I may have been wrong before once.

Flip flop, flip flop - watching you tout government intervention before crapping on it just to prop it up again is about what I'd expect out of you.

Thanks for playing! Bye bye troll! You’re not interested in talking solutions you just want to bitch.

Two weeks bro I'll be on the boat in Nanny Cay. First to Norman Island and the Willy T then to dive the Rhone off of Salt Island, over to Cooper and then to the Baths. A night in Leverick Bay and over to George Dog to dive the Chimney and two nights at Jost van Dyke with dinner at Foxy's and a bottle of Cruzan and all day at white bay at the Soggy Dollar.

Captain Ron ain't got nothing on me.

If government intervention is a bad thing, why not call it out?

If the proposed government intervention is a good thing why not propose it?

Always with the absolutes. No one here is an anarchist.

Captain Ron sadly has probably rented his last sailing yacht the current wife has zero interest. The Bight is one of my favorite places on earth.

Now after this brief interlude of civility I’m back to you suck!

Technically I’m fairly sure a couple of us are anarchists. Just sayin.

You know , if I was one of those people that pointed things out , this would be the post id use after reading pages of post where you tried to get people to admit they didn’t care about all those poor / uninsured/ stricken people in this country that can’t afford to live because of debt from health care bills . 😂

Well

I am going trout fishing this weekend with my trusty waders and a bottle of blue label.

I'm jealous, Don't come into a marina with your sails up and your anchor dragging!

The Bight (restaurant) burned down a wile back and was rebuilt to be far superior to the old. Willy T sank during Irma and was recently replaced by a similar looking trawler with the same bar in the back. No free t shirts for jumping off in your birthday suit anymore.

Also, you suck more.

I usually do Moorings sail catamaran, this year we're doing a power cat. Mainly due to our dive heavy schedule and the fact we'll have four teenage boys who don't grasp the concept of a sailors shower, the Marinemax boat we have has a water maker.

Yep I remember reading on the impact of Irma and you had given me the info on the new Willy T before in prior discussion.

I was in my Dr office for my yearly physical and he’s got pictures of a floating bar on the wall. He’s a diver. I’m like so that’s the Willy T in BVI isn’t it? Indeed it was.

I’m guessing I won’t get back. Maybe I can talk her into a land lubber package of island hopping but it isn’t the same.

You suck mostest!

My God are you a glutton for punishment. Times must have changed since I was a wee lad, but I didn't GAS whether I took a shower or not. Now girls need a 30 minute unlimited hot water shower no matter where they are.

I'll be rum soaked by the 4th and won't care if they bathe or not. A few years ago I was over served to the point of singing Flock of Seagulls on the bow while looking for the southern cross. Kids were mortified. That was fun.

Judge blocks ACA coverage mandate for cancer, diabetes screenings, PrEP

"A federal judge in Texas on Thursday blocked Obamacare's mandate that health insurance plans cover preventive care, including pre-exposure prophylaxis against HIV (PrEP) and screenings for cancer, diabetes and depression at no cost to patients.

U.S. District Judge Reed O'Connor in Fort Worth, Texas, previously found that the PrEP mandate violated a federal religious freedom law and that other preventive care mandates were based on recommendations by an illegally appointed task force.

The judge has now blocked the federal government from enforcing the mandates, a victory for conservative businesses and individuals that sued to challenge them in 2020."

fighting against preventive care coverage is probably the only fault I find with fighting ACA.
it saves everyone money.
it protects the patient.
it saves everyone time with less down time, and even the paperwork.

if anything any government required health insurance should start at preventive care. Did the patient follow through the covered preventive care procedures? If yes, then they get broader health coverage. If no, tough crap, no health coverage, Joe Public shouldn't have to pay for the fat arse who never exercises, gets outside, or takes other prescribed preventive measures.

if you aren't going to take steps to save yourself, I have no idea why you should expect others to suffer to take care you after.

Preventative coverage is good and all but the gov't shouldn't be getting involved. It's between the insurance company and their client (us). If we want a policy that includes free preventative care, fine. The insurance co writes it that way and quotes a cost. If you don't wanna pay for free preventative care, you ask your insurance co how much a policy would cost without it. Gov't is taking our choices away from us.
