Obamacare Survives SCOTUS

Preventative coverage is good and all but the gov't shouldn't be getting involved. It's between the insurance company and their client (us). If we want a policy that includes free preventative care, fine. The insurance co writes it that way and quotes a cost. If you don't wanna pay for free preventative care, you ask your insurance co how much a policy would cost without it. Gov't is taking our choices away from us.

Insurance companies are thieves and liars. Their primary aim is to avoid paying claims. And far too often, they get away with it, with the help of their federal and state level lobbyist bought puppets.

So you’re arguing in favor of paying more for insurance? Why would you not want preventative care if it were free?

Make sure you tell your grandma that before she signs up for a Medicare Advantage plan.

In that case wouldn’t you want preventative care coverage? To save yourself money and time down the line?
it shouldn't be government mandated. thats the problem.

and thats what I was trying to figure out how "mandated" this was, with the individual mandates removed I wasn't finding anything saying an individual had to get this. seems like they are saying if you have insurance this is a requirement. which I personally don't have a terrible problem with.

The issue is that me the end user ends up paying for someone else's preventive care in the wash because I want insurance.

Don't have to, seen the truth of this up close and personal.Co-worker whose leg was broken in a car accident. Company refused to authorize the surgery, claiming it was a cosmetic procedure, not a necessary medical procedure. Company refused to pay for a cataract surgery, claiming it was unauthorized as a facility (local hospital barely 10 miles down the road) was used instead of the one they required. What? Well, they claimed I had to go to a hospital across two state lines for the procedure. Company refused to authorize a simple wart removal on the hand that was enlarging. Excuse? It wasn't covered by insurance. Just keep in mind, in all cases they were under contract and co-paid with our employer, and we had top of the line coverage. Company refused to cover another co-workers cancer treatment. Forced her to file a breach of contract lawsuit. Used their fancy lawyers to delay judicial proceedings until the woman died. The one thing Obama did was change this BS, saying if people paid the premium, insurance companies were obligated to fulfill the promise and expectation to pay for the care. Instead of taking their money, basically telling them FORK you. But Trump and his lobby bought Republiars have greatly diluted such protections now. So patients are right back where we used to be of not having the coverage we paid for when we need it.

lol, no. All Obama did was get insurance companies to jack their prices, remove options, encourage thousands of doctors to shut down instead of dealing with the red tape. He didn't fix jack, I still had to pay for preventive screenings even under Obama. only difference was under Obama it cost 2x out of pocket, and about 5x on my premium.

Medicare Advantage plans. Well, As long as you are healthy they ar ok. Problem is for almost all of us the health problems typically start around the age of 65.
Regular Medicare with a Supplement Plan and Plan D(drug plan) is the way to go.

Affordable Care Act here to stay. 40 states have accepted the Medicaid expansion provisions. Over 20% of Americans use the brokerage or expanded Medicaid. You're not going to win elections eliminating health care insurance from 90 million people.

So go ahead Repubs, do it, repeal what you love to call Obamacare (he doesn't mind). Or just sit here pissing on each other's legs and whining about it. I'm guessing you guys go with the 2nd choice.

What's funny, anti-Obama people are largely rural Whites, and are the biggest users of the Obamacare. Even claim that without it, they wouldn't be able to afford insurance at all.
Rural America Could be Hardest Hit by Obamacare Repeal

Nope, not buying that. After OC my insurance rates skyrocketed. I'm now on an off the marketplace plan and it's far far cheaper. Yeah, I gotta pay for my flu shots but I save all kinds of money in premiums and my plan is also good in all 50 states. The marketplace plans generally are only good in your home state. OC really F'd up an already bad system. It managed to make a complicated system more complicated and more expensive. Thanks to Trump I now have the option to buy my insurance elsewhere. Thank you Mr Trump

Making us report it 'our insurance status' on our taxes was fu@ked up

Preventative care is generally not the expensive part..it's like telling the general public (which is stupid)...ohhh look we are paying for your 90 dollar doctor's visit (which is now $170 thanks to ObamaCare)...whoopty do, I'll pay for my own doctor's visits for lower premiums, thank you very much...We were able to get private high deductible insurance for a family of four $118 a month pre ObamaCare...same policy post Obamacare? $987 a month...non poor people (which is most of us)...really took it up the butt

OC did not deliver universal care, nor was affordable. Problem is 85% of Americans were already fine insurance-wise, getting it either from their employer or from the gov't. It was self employed schleps like me that needed help and OC hurt us the worst. This is the opposite of how it should have worked.

I said at the time and I'll say it now: Our healthcare system would get fixed tomorrow if one thing happened: They banned employer insurance and everyone had to buy it themselves like car insurance...most importantly Congress

My experience was very similar. You speak the truth

Kill Obamacare, Not CEOs

Since the most popular reaction to the cold-blooded murder of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson has been to hail the shooter as a hero, I gather that Americans really hate health insurance companies.

Apparently, Obamacare isn't all it was cracked up to be.

Valedictorian McDonald's boy's rage is justified but wildly misses the target because literally everything wrong with health care was given to us by Barack Obama and the Democrats. Without a single Republican vote, they jammed through Obamacare in an unconstitutional procedure -- it was a tax bill that didn't originate in the House because it wouldn't have had the votes -- wrecking the already government-corrupted health insurance business.

We were promised that under Obamacare:

1. Everyone would have affordable, quality health care.

2. Not a dime would be added to the deficit.

3. Premiums would go down.

4. You could keep your health insurance if you liked it.

5. You could keep your doctor if you liked him.

And it all came true! Except for those last five things.

Premiums went through the roof because Democrats mandated, among other things, that insurance companies cover an array of exotic medical treatments popular with their base -- e.g., men who think they're women, people who can't figure out how to use a condom, drug addicts, day drinkers, people who bring their emotional support Shetland ponies on airplanes, and so on.

You know why it took 90 days to get approval for treating your baby's brain tumor? Your insurance company was tapped out after paying for thousands upon thousands of transgender surgeries, as mandated by the Democrats. Now, if your baby wanted to trade his penis for a make-believe vagina, well, NOW you're talking!

Here are just a few of the covered services expressly for transgenders listed on United Healthcare's webpage:

-- Bilateral mastectomy or breast reduction

-- Breast augmentation with breast implants or fat transfer

-- Clitoroplasty (creation of clitoris)

-- Hysterectomy (removal of uterus)

-- Labiaplasty (creation of labia)

-- Laser or electrolysis hair removal in advance of genital reconstruction

-- Metoidioplasty (creation of penis, using clitoris)

-- Orchiectomy (removal of testicles)

-- Penectomy (removal of penis)

-- Penile prosthesis

-- Phalloplasty (creation of penis)

-- Salpingo-oophorectomy (removal of fallopian tubes and ovaries)

-- Scrotoplasty (creation of scrotum)

-- Testicular prostheses

-- Thyroid cartilage reduction/reduction thyroid chondroplasty/tracheal shave (removal or reduction of the Adam's apple)

The list goes on for a full page. Surely you didn't imagine that your health insurer would pay for all that -- plus grandma's Parkinson's? (On the other hand, if grandma's Alzheimer's makes her think she might be a man, she's covered.)

Obamacare is a welfare program for people with freakish sexual predilections, except that instead of being funded with tax revenue, it's funded with our insurance premiums. The middle class pays through the nose for health insurance in order to enable insurance companies to comply with a preposterous array of government mandates and regulations.
