ObamaGate

Should Donny be guilty of colluding with the Ruskies, then he rightly belongs in the hoosegow. I'll be all for it.

Thus far, however, it seems to be a witch hunt where people who are very sore losers are grasping at straws to deligitimize the sitting president.

It looks more like Obama and his cronies have waded into a more serious version of the Watergate scandal at this point.

Blessings to you, my fellow patriot.

So, after everything other posters and I have provided you in TrumPutin Gate thread, you're going with Obama illegally wiretapped Trump because Trump said so?

I usually have respect for you, but that is a special place of insanity, sir.

If so, you're not the "open-minded" individual you construct yourself as.

That's the irony. If there was a wiretap of Trump, it was after a finding of probable cause.

The GOP are running away from Trump, at this point

How did Hillary lose to this clown???

LOL. Remember when the Republican Party was all but dead? Remember you claiming that over and over as they took more seats from Dems at the state and national levels?

Russian intel assets at Trump Tower were wiretapped through FISA, not Trump Tower itself, which would be in keeping with Clapper's claims this morning.

This means that probable cause exists, and it means that that noxious swamp scum you voted for is most likely soon going to be spending the rest of his miserable swamp scum life in a federal prison cell.

Oh yeah they had it tapped prior to the election, learned damning info, let him get elected anyway, and are just sitting on it for now...

Your cynicism belies you, but, in a sense, I understand your point.

As I have said before, I will always question the FBI's move to take down Hillary (far less of a threat) first with the 11th hour announcement.

I think that was an egregious mistake, and one that risks potential military involvement in this situation, whereas we could have avoided that had this all been done before the inauguration.

The only thing I can figure - if indeed no foul play was behind this - is that the IC and law enforcement have been making sure all their ducks are in a row before going forth with what will most assuredly be the biggest story in American political history, shy of our founding.

Wow. How am I going to sleep tonight?

I share my opinion and throw and take some barbs. I generally like this crew and enjoy the spirited back and forth.

I've always found it curious your need to share with others who has earned or lost your respect, as if you're handing out some prestigious honor. It's a little weird. I've always assumed it's just a carry over from your days as a professor. Most men spread their wings after college and spend very little time concerning themselves with what others think of them.

So you're a nutbag partisan hack, just like the rest of the nutbag partisan hacks here?

Good to know.

I'm sorry what?

The FBI/CIA are ones that would have done the tapping, no?

So this means the agency's had to share any info with the obama/clinton folks.

This **** stinks to high heaven.

Lying? A reason for impeachment? Hell, we never would have a president then.

Trump said Obama ordered it. It would be a crime for him to do so without a warrant. If Obama did not do as Trump has accused, Trump should be removed from office.

Even though I fall into the conservative side of the house, I'm not entirely in agreement with the FISA courts and the decisions reached in secrecy. I have this funny feeling the lines are blurred on what constitutes "probable cause" in regards to espionage and terrorism. Especially after the Patriot Act is still in force.

You can call me a partisan or tin foil loony if you want, but I wouldn't like this any more if it was the DNC side of the house. I believe wiretapping a campaign headquarters regardless of party and calling it "espionage" leads us down a seriously dark path we as a country don't need to be traveling on.

I'll excuse the latter portion of your post as it's typical LG garbage screeching about "IMPEACH!" However, I don't think Obama personally said "make it so." But as others have pointed out regularly so far, the buck stops at the Oval Office. And things that happened on his watch fall under his responsibility. And in reference to my post above, someone in the halls of power in the previous Administration knew about it. You can't get that kind of warrant without letting someone close to the President know what's going on.

Now, if they didn't tell Obama, well, we'll just add that to the list of **** they kept from him. "I learned about the IRS scandal in the newspaper." So on and so forth. But make no mistake, someone in the White House knew it was going on. It may very well turn out Obama was in the dark, but someone up there knew and approved it.

From what i have read a request should only be granted if there is indeed compelling evidence presented.
The first FISA request was denied - it apparently targeted Trump. The second FISA request removed Trump's name, but it looks like they went ahead and included him anyway.

Obama is in trouble buddy....

I'm not sure how they define PC in that context either, but I'm pretty sure that to wiretap a citizen they are going to want more than a newspaper clipping.

They surveilled the Russian spies, not Trump or his people. If they got caught up in that and conversations captured that could be where the intelligence is coming from.

That is not the equivalent of wiretapping Trump Tower.

So, you are rushing to judgment before knowing all the facts? You've pretty much stated as an absolute fact PC was there and they could get the warrant. Now you want to reverse course and say you aren't positive about the definition or context of PC in regards to the FISA court?

If this was a DNC Candidate, you'd be jumping up and down and flailing off the walls demanding utter proof of wrongdoing. And demanding the FBI release such proof on the warrant to the public.

Semantics. Do you really want to go down the road that "they were looking for the Russians and happened to be performing surveillance at Trump Tower"?

And I love how you ignored the rest of the post. Probably because you know it's right.

1. June 2016: FISA request.
The Obama administration files a request with the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA) to monitor communications involving Donald Trump and several advisers. The request, uncharacteristically, is denied.
.........
The first request, which, sources say, named Trump, was denied back in June, but the second was drawn more narrowly and was granted in October after evidence was presented of a server, possibly related to the Trump campaign, and its alleged links to two banks; SVB Bank and Russia’s Alfa Bank. While the Times story speaks of metadata, sources suggest that a FISA warrant was granted to look at the full content of emails and other related documents that may concern US persons.

So nothing was found, but they left the taps in anyway. Yeah, that's some shady **** from the obama administration.

No, I said we don't know what was provided to the court to get the warrant. It's pretty annoying that some here are intentionally misrepresenting that the warrant was for Trump. That's made up out of whole cloth.
