According to him - he didn't communicate well enough...

Apparently he feels he got the policy right but just didn't tell a good story about his vision and unify the country around that vision.

Un-F-believable.

"the mistake of my first term - couple of years - was thinking that this job was just about getting the policy right. And that's important. But the nature of this office is also to tell a story to the American people that gives them a sense of unity and purpose and optimism, especially during tough times."

Not sure why this is unbelievable.

Believable as in I'm not surprised he said it - typical political BS.

Unbelievable as in even he himself can't believe this steaming pile.

Mildly unbelievable that they think that is a good answer to the question.

Still, this is par for the course with american politics. I wouldn't expect any different if it were any other POTUS or politician.

I concede that point.

I think we'll be seeing and hearing these words in many Romney campaign videos.

Eh, if a flat-earther wants to believe it's his communication failings that keep people from seeing things his way so be it. It's not like all the people not buying his story is likely to dissuade him from his beliefs.

If by failure to communicate he means the opacity shown by his administration in lieu of the promised transparency then yeah, epic fail.

We get what we elect. It's sad when the POTUS says his biggest mistake was not doing a good enough job selling his BS, as opposed to the mistake actually being the BS itself.

Yep. W wouldn't admit to any mistakes and this tool says what you said above.

Blaming communications/message is standard political operating procedure when things aren't going well.

If he was honest, he would say. "For the past four years we've been a clusterfark which no president could fix."

But that wouldn't give much reason for people to elect him again.

When things aren't going well, you blame it on the other party and your base eats it up. You only differ to communication when you have to find a mistake with yourself.

The ACA was explained extremely poorly. I mean, look at the level of ignorance on this very board of college educated people about it.

There are still people on this board who think it creates some incentive to small businesses to drop health insurance coverage for their employees. It does not.

There are still people on this board who think the individual mandate will increase the cost of insurance to those that currently have it. It does not.

There are still people on this board who think that the cost of paying the penalty/tax is passed on to the employer. It isn't.

The heart of the individual mandate is to force people who use the system but are not paying for their use of it to pony up some dough and at least minimize the shifting of the cost of their care to those of us who pay for our care, either directly or through insurance.

That is a decidedly Republican ideal.

Just ask Mitt Romney.

of course it is. Every one has been shot down on this board but ignored. LG also continually ignores the fact that many on here aren't voting for Romney anyway while trying to stick it to the GOP followers. It's a sad game being played

Lol.

The other tactic is to insinuate the opposition is stupid. Classic liberal defense

If Johnson is on the ballot here I will throw my vote his way. Otherwise, that box is going to be blank.
