Obi-Wan Kenobi (Disney+)

Loved the finale minute. I was hoping that would happen. I also hate that they did exactly what I feared they would do with the second sister

I don’t think she was redeemed. She definitely wasnt the hero. She just chickened out. If she pops up again her next story will be about redemption.

Most suspenseful moment in the history of storytelling:

Waiting to find out if young Luke Skywalker was dead. My heart was beating out of my chest!

Hahaha… not sure that moment was for us LOL

I feel the last 2 episodes alone made the series worth it.

Overall I'd say there were 2 great episodes, a good one, and 3 average to maybe even meh ones. As with the prequels, McGregor nailed the role and unlike some actors *cough* Harrison Ford *cough* you can tell he likes playing Obi-Wan. I would have liked to have seen some more flashbacks with Anakin to give Christensen more screen time but he did well with what he was given.

Both have said they want to more and I'm all for it but they need to think outside the box more to give them both more to do. They can't have another series where they fight IMO and I don't think they can do just a Vader series because what would Christensen do, unless that has more flashbacks.

I thought 3,5, and 6 were great. 1 and 2 were good. 4 was the weakest.

As a whole the show had its problems but ultimately I was enjoyed it. It no Mando but pretty much on par with Boba Fett’s non Mando episodes.

I think overall it's better than Boba Fett and closer to on par with Mando, but that's moreso because I think Mando is a tad overrated.

Ok, I feel like I’m asking a dumb question, but why doesn’t Obi-Wan just kill Vader?

Is it because he knew it was Luke’s destiny?

I agree. I didn’t like how Vader just left Reva alive the episode before either.

This same battle was done with Asohka on Rebels and they at least had temple crumble down on them to end it.

I’m not going to think too hard about it, but this show had a problem with leaving people alive just for the sake of the story line.

I think the Reva thing was Vader showing how much beneath him she was. A bug to be swatted away, but not cared about. Kinda like you swat that fly mid air, you don't go looking where it fell to see if it dies, you just keep going and it's no longer a bother. I think that dismissiveness was them trying to convey his sense of power.

I think also he somewhat believes "there's still good in him" to an extent. Despite his remarks in ROTJ, Obi-Wan still has a dilemma since he knew (or at least believed) Anakin was the Chosen One who would or could bring balance to the Force.

Episode 6 was BY FAR the best episode. Not even close. Loved the Obi-Wan and Vader fight scenes. Loved when Obi-Wan cracked open the mask of Vader and saw the face of Anakin and yelled his name. Just great scenes. I would have loved more Luke in this series.

And I definitely agree, I'd LOVE to see a Vader mini series.

After finishing this show, I think i'm just going to stick to classic star wars and reading the novels (which i just started reading). Disney Star Wars is just not for me as a lifelong fan of the movies. About the only thing i enjoyed about Disney Star Wars was the Mandalorian, but then they had to fire Gina which has turned me off to that series.

Outside of the OT what non-Disney material is head and shoulders above the last few years.

Here are your choices.
The Prequels
Clone Wars
The Holiday Special
The Ewok TV movies
Ewoks Cartoon
Droids Cartoon

Out of that group I put Clone Wars above most Disney stuff save Mando.

I can't really comment on the last 4 things as i haven't seen those things. I enjoyed the Prequels more than the Sequels.

Ok that is a push. (I personally think they both suffer from different problems)

That still leaves…

Rogue One
Solo
Mando (2 seasons)
Boba
CW7
Bad Batch
Rebels
Resistance

Im not arguing everything Disney has done has been good. But that is significant amount of content and quite a bit of it has been very good.

I just find it funny when people lump all Disney Star Wars into “Disney Era Sucks” they aren’t really putting it into perspective with the whole 40+ years of SW.

Unfortunately there was no reason for this show to exist I do love Ewan as Obi Wan he does a great job but I don’t think him and Vader should’ve met and fought in between Episode 3 and 4 but I’m just going to erase that from my head canon lol and there way too much little Leia I didn’t think she should’ve been in it at all. It was nice to see Qui Gon back though ever brief it was. The Mandolorian is still the best of the new Star Wars shows to come out.

1. As for the list, Rogue One was decent to me (I did love the scene with Vader). I didn't like Solo. Ive already stated my position on Mando. Didn't like Boba. Season 7 of CW is good. Rebels was somewhat good. Haven't seen Resistance or Bad Batch.

2. If you enjoy Disney Star Wars, then more power to you. To me though, I'm just not a fan.

This show was totally driven by fans wanting to see McGreggor as Obiwan again. I agree it was ultimately unnecessary.

But since they were going to do it, I think the concept/plot of the show was pretty good. Including Leia and Reva. There was some missteps in execution I just hand waved away. I think it should have just been a movie and some of the problems could have been remedied.

Overall I still found it entertaining.
