Obligatory post-game loss next HC thread

Are you watching the same game I'm watching? Stokes has to look at the floor while he's dribbling or else he loses control of the ball.

I think he can be coached. Again...the guy ain't smart, but under the right coach, he'll be straight.

How can this be excused, go ahead and make the excuses? I am afraid CCM is not our answer for the future.

Ah. Yes. I will agree. I find it weird svg doesn't have a job yet. As a magic fan, I thought he was erroneously canned.

He's done with the NBA IMO.

He's gotten screwed twice and I think he's tired of the politics.

Lawrence Frank! 43 years old, was with Oneal at Tennessee and would be an amazing coach at the college level IMO. He would have been our coach after Pearl but knew he was getting another shot at a coaching gig in the NBA. Now is the best time to steal him away because after his showing with the Pistons, no GM is gonna give him a chance for awhile and I think he only took the job with the Nets because of Kidd and his family is close.

I watched him for two years with the Pistons.

I think he can do a good job at the college level. His offense would work better in college.

Can he recruit though? His NBA pedigree would help.

I don't buy it. Look, It's obvious stokes isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but he's got nba talent, and it's embarrassing that we might not get this kid to the dance

Please. He looks like a baby giraffe out there. Half of his rebounds are from grabbing his own missed layup.

Not a bad shout. I would also put in calls to Marshall from Wichita State and Capel from coach K's staff.

Pearl darn near got us close to a death penalty and people want him back? I guess win at all cost is what yall want.

Why not? USC did it; Alabama does it; and the penalties, if any, aren't severe. Not team is ever getting the death penalty again after the NCAA saw what it did to the SMU football program. USC was paying players and got the equivalent of a slap on the wrist.

Prone to hyperbole much? Death penalty for a BBQ when USC was caught paying players and didn't get the death penalty. Again, after SMU, I don't think NCAA will ever levy that type of punishment again.

The only problem is his wife is sick, Brooklyn is close enough to his home and he's the highest paid assistant in the nba.

Not sure about recruiting

ZJC - I respect your basketball knowledge as much as anyone on here. Are you acknowledging that we will probably be looking for a new HC at the end of the season?

Marshall would be up there but he'd never come here. He makes great money already, has an incredible fanbase, no competition and already turned down bigger named programs for more money than what wed pay our coaches.

I still thinks he makes the tourney this year.

But I think at this current rate, he will be gone after 2014-2015. Four years without a tourney win is not acceptable at UT.

Worrying about sanctions over hiring Pearl is baseless. The NCAA is a joke at this point. They probably won't even exist within a few years. Hell, Florida/USC/Texas could and should hire Chip Kelly at the end of the season and give the NCAA the finger, show cause and all.

Fact is, Pearl is still the best option out there, and he would come back to Knoxville in a heartbeat. The only reason to NOT hire him is because of the fear of the NCAA snooping around.
