Obligatory post-game loss next HC thread

I still thinks he makes the tourney this year.

But I think at this current rate, he will be gone after 2014-2015. Four years without a tourney win is not acceptable at UT.

I think with a loss to UTEP and after tomorrow 2 losses to Xavier it will be tough to get there unless we kill it in conference as SEC is weak and probably only a 2-3 bid conference this year. Agree?

Somebody on another thread brought up Tim Floyd. Why not? We easily win tonight if he's the HC.

I do agree.

The SEC is awful though. I have to believe (blindly) they can beat NC State and Virginia at home, and go 12-6 in the SEC. Hopefully that gets us there.

Since he loves UT,it's ok to lie to them and the ncaa about what happened?

**** the NCAA. Pearl got screwed by a greedy for-profit company that hands down arbitrary punishments for minor offenses.

"Lying" to the NCAA about something like a BBQ should never constitute severe punishment. Who is the NCAA to make judgment calls like that?

Coaches and conferences have had enough, and that corrupt organization will be referred to in past-tense soon enough.

If he didn't lie he would have been punished bad anyway. He lied hoping no one would ask any questions but he got caught and had to own up to it which put him in a bigger hole. Everyone's been there in their life at some point. Don't act like your sh** don't stink either. He made a mistake, he apologized for it sincerely and paid the price. It's over with and in the past. Forgive and forget. He's the man for UT basketball and it's that simple.

That might do it, but this team is going to have to show a helluva a lot of improvement to beat NC St., UVA or go 12-6 in SEC. This looks like a 9-9 SEC team right now at best.

No way in hell anybody should be supporting cuonzo now. He had 6 days to prepare for this game and came out and laid an egg. His coaching is pathetic and honestly so is his recruiting. we cant win with bringing in a 5 star or high rated 4 star and then 2 and three stars. We have no depth. We constantly only have one scoring option in every lineup and sometimes NONE! Bottom line this guy sucks #BringBackBruce #FireCuonzo

I can't disagree with this.

He had a BBQ with a recruit and lied.... Are you seriously going to say "I rather watch my team lose than to have a great head coach and great man that loves and represents UT to the fullest just because of that"?

I can get my sales pitch on as well baby.

Pearl is a habitual liar. In both his job life and private life.

I don't want him. Also, his show clause doesn't end till August of 2014.

UT can hire somebody that can bring great success to UT outside of Pearl.

We have to prove we can win some neutral courts games. We are just gonna have to win some SEC tournament games to have any kind of shot IMO.

CCM's neutral court record at UT is laughable.

Those games are at TBA. The lackluster TN road team doesn't show up at TBA. We should win both of those games.

I was told tonight that, aside from lying to the NCAA, that none of the violations Bruce was acused of (BBQ, phone calls)are currently ncaa violations.

Is that true?

Everyone's a liar man. Let it go

I understand but I still personally want him.

Can they? If so, I would love to meet this guy. It's been a long time coming.

In all seriousness, I just want Martin gone. I really don't care who we hire as long as they're good and proven.

Everyone might be a liar, but most people don't lie to 17 year old recruits, his wife, every boss, his coaches, etc.

Don't think so dude. That's interesting. I'm pretty sure the BBQ was that's why the NCAA asked about it.
