I have to say that I agree with OP. There were and are still a lot of good coaches out there. I don't know why we went with a coach from Mizzou St. who benefited from a down Missouri Valley Conference season. He was unproven then and hasn't done anything to get me to believe in him yet. He does own Donovan and UF which is nice, but losses to Midd Tenn St., CofC, Mercer, Austin Peay, getting swept by UGA, and now UTEP...We have the talent people. Something isn't right...

The way I understand it we have some higher ups that want let Pearl come back. It is not clear if it is
Boosters or Cheeks and his bunch but saying no chance Pearl will ever coach at Tennessee again. I say fans should make it happen. We are the ones who should decide who we want to coach our team.

I agree and some pretty big money people are starting to get in Hart's ear.

I'd say Cheek has to go for Bruce to come back, and I would be fine with that. I don't see Pearl coming back. I would be fine with Marshall or Shaka Smart

Bruce will not be coming back but yes for that to happen Jimmy Cheek would have to be gone. The two will never coexist.

I would love Smart, but didn't he just reup his contract at VCU and in the process turn down some higher profile jobs?

Regarding the money issue, we are one of the wealthiest programs in collegiate athletics, so when will we stop bargain hunting and offer a lot of money to get a big name? There has to be a HC out there that would leave if the money were right. Like they always say, you can't buy a Rolex at Wal-Mart.

Player developer: numerous in the NBA.
wins over Duke and other heavies in the ACC.
