Very good news. let's hope AJ's punishment will be the same. And more importantly, let's hope they keep their noses clean for at least 6 months.......preferably for much longer than that.

Almost anyone who's ever been to college has probably been in a bad situation before but was lucky to not be caught. As a person, you just have to grow out of wanting to be at scenes like this. Some people do and some don't. There's nothing wrong with having a good time in life, but nothing good ever happens at 2 and 3 in the morning, especially when alcohol and cops are involved.

When I got hit with underage consumption at UT my court date was weeks later than my friend who got busted the same night.

Looks like a adjournment in contemplation of dismissal (ACD) which is a good deal. That way, as long as they complete the community service and keep their nose clean for the next 6 months, they have no record at all - its completely expunged. Which is a good thing in today's job market. Its also the proper thing to do for kids who did something stupid but are not generally troublemakers.

Unfortunately, dismissal of all charges and expungement of their criminal records doesn't wipe the slate clean for these guys. Their arrests will live on in infamy for the rest of their lives on the internet. It's the price of being a UT football player. If you make a mistake, the world knows it and it can't be erased.

I can't think of one "infamous" player in the past from any school, or even what they did ... 'cept that dude (was it in Florida?) got busted on a scooter, an the pic was hilarious!

Butch's first situation appears to be handled well. Not any chatter from players. No promise to address. Just handle it, guys get punished, quietly move on and keep working. No grudges held and not much drama, considering 12 damn police cars showed up.

They all live for the fame of wearing the Orange. Maybe these clowns will realize it ain't all its cracked up to be. Too bad if this never totally goes away on the internet. It may teach them a valuable lesson. Now Butch needs o wear them out in the spring!

If an employer holds this against them when they are 40 years old, then that employer isn't someone to work for.

Until Miley Cyrus has sex with a toothbrush on stage...then TMZ might break away from loud music and drinking in a college environment :eek:hmy:

They thought it was a Krispy Kreme party.

I agree, however, more employers are looking at stuff like this. It's the way that the world is.

Eh, I don't know about that. I did a lot of contract work performing internal audit testing, and most of the employer's I spoke with said they don't want anyone with a rap sheet, but worry a little bit about someone having a lack of street smarts if they were over the top squeaky clean. Like another poster said. Most of us have been in similar scenarios. Some get in trouble some don't Besides, it wasn't like they were fighting in clubs or driving around drunk.

It's not just the internet. Getting something expunged doesn't make it totally disappear. The government still keeps those records. They just don't hand them out to just anyone if they've been expunged.

BTW, I'm not a conspiracy theorist. I've had something expunged and then been asked about it later (I work for the government).

I'm pretty sure no one gives a rat's ass about an underage citation as long as your employment would still constitute an asset to the firm.

Wrong. Some of the best and worse things happen at 2 to 3 am when alcohol is involved. Usually good stuff, if you know what I mean.

Actually, fewer employers are concerned about this stuff anymore. The worst thing you can have on your record from an employer's perspective is a crime of dishonesty like theft or a felony. Even DUIs don't matter much anymore, mainly because more people have them now and there's no indication that a DUI means you aren't intelligent and a hard worker.
