Just like all the great winning qbs in the NFL our qb must run more, a lot more, and as FSU did have, two losses , when the Vols beat them for the national championship, Auburn did back in the days of Sullivan and Beasley having two losses and a shot at winning it all, we have a long shot with two losses, it's , two losses, shouldn't be a death sentence, based on our remaining games. I suppose, Gators have to fall for certain.

Holy run-on sentence, Batman. I don't think a bama loss is the end of the world. However, this was a very beatable bama team and we had a decent shot. That's what makes this truly sting. As for a running QB, I do think it is telling when I'm watching the FSU/Duke game and am envious of their QB. I should never be envious of a Duke QB. Yet, here we are.

Agreed. Milton seems very indecisive when running that. I mean Iv never seen a qb on an option turn around and pitch it with two hands like that lol.
Normal Joe is a one decision qb. The pitch gives him a second decision other than when to cut upfield. Run QB power with him or lead draws and we can be even better on the ground

Were not playing for a championship, were not getting in the playoffs. Best we can hope for is to run the table and get a shot at a New Years bowl.
Ky, Mizzou and Ga are standing in the way of that opportunity.
remember not long ago when we were hoping to beat vandy to get to a bowl game.

I like our current worries a lot better

I don't have a problem with the " run Milton more" approach. If you remember he had his greatest gains running out to the right or left and NOT running up the middle where they had stuffed us all game long. This game stung because we had a senior starting qb with Bama having a first year qb just like Florida did. We should have won both these games. These opportunities don't come around often and we squandered them. Next year, we start a new Qb and Florida/Bama/Georgia will be playing with a 2nd year starters. This was our year and it was just wasted away by restricting JM and the entire offense. Throw the darn ball and let your players make plays.

Someone is living in lala land. There is no way in hell that UT has a sniff at the natty with a QB who chokes like Joe does. I realize the game was away, but we do like Phil's team did way too many times. We play not to lose. That will kill you every time.

I qualify this a little. Once we get ahead, we play not to lose.

Absolutely. I think we got scared of Bama run defense. We hang our hats on running game and we didn't try to establish it at all. Bama can be run on this year, but there was no creativity in the run game except Milton running more. No traps...nothing but running plays that seemed designed to gain yards on 3rd and short. Still, the 4th down calls, especially the last one changed the momentum in the game. We were up 20-17 and gave them a very short field...coaching blunder for sure on that one.

I said we’d lose 4 games this year.
We beat A&M so we’re ahead of the chains in my prediction.
I sure as hell didn’t expect to lead B*** at halftime.
Sure I’m disappointed with the loss but it’s nice to be competitive in these games again
This is exactly how I feel. I was shocked at our first half, which is what I think makes the second half that much more painful.

We just aren’t consistent and that’s the most confusing and frustrating part this year. Sometimes we can beat anyone and other times we can get beat by anyone.

We are what we are. I called 8-4 too.

But man that officiating last night really took a toll on the Ole Blood Pressure.

I just hope we get our future QB playing time the rest of the season.
Totally agree we need to get Nico some playing time. If CHP is giving up on this season like he did yesterday, then yes, get all qb's some playing time regardless of the score or who is winning.

I thought this game had potential to be like the Florida game b/c we've not shown we can go to someone else's house this year and win. Turns out it was like the FL game but like you said, the first half got me to thinking we're actually a good team.

If you can’t figure out how to win on the road, you aren’t a contender. We are too mentally weak at the moment to win a really big game on the road. Maybe we’ll get there, but nothing we’ve seen this year suggests that we’re close.

Florida State had 1 loss in 1998. Their 2nd loss was in the NC game. But they didn’t make it there with 2 losses.

I think that we were spoiled rotten with HH. The Processing speed that HH had was unbelievable. HH sees completions 4 secs before they happen. Joe sees it at about .5 second. His legs are there and his time will come but it is going to take sometime to develop what HH had if ever.
