Obvious to me are two things after yesterday's disappointment....

The problem is that guys ain't making the plays. This forum is full of critique about how Joe sucks, but he has no help. (Squirrel excepted) Everyone else is mediocre and inconsistent. Yes, Bama did what we thought they would, they loaded the box and stuffed the run, and I was disappointed in Josh's play calling in that regard. I would have loved to see more of those bubbles that would have opened things up more.

I think this team goes to sleep in the third quarter. Seems to be the one thing we consistently do.
We made more plays in the 1st half when we were passing the ball down field. We lost the game in the second half when we stopped that and went to the run, run, pass punt game.

I’ve said this before, and I’ll continue to say it.

We have to learn how to take a punch in the gut during a road game and be able to gather ourselves and move on. Seems whenever some team punches us on the road we fold like a cheap suit.

Gotta win on the road in a hostile environment.

Both of the qb's at Fla and Bama may have saw some play time last year, but they were not the starting QB's. Same for Georgia. Those qb's will be more seasoned next year, so by that standard, this was our best chance to knock them off. Bama has looked average at best all year and not in the top 10 for most of the season. Florida is even worse. Georgia has also struggled this year. Tons of folks on this site and the tv analysts have talks about how Bama is not the usual Bama. We should have won both the Florida and Bama game.
You’re missing the point.
Milton wasn’t our starter either, we are worse at QB, WR and OL than last year so it doesn’t matter if UGA and Bama are not as good, WE AINT EITHER !!!
They are both still more talented than we are , they both should be expected to beat us!!!
UF is the only should of in the bunch, and they were home, we had 2 starting OL out for the game so that’s a very very very small “should of”.

Milton was the starter at Michigan for a number of games and at Tn as well until he got injured. He's had way more game time experience than any of those qb starting at Florida ,Bama or Georgia. Milroe lost the starting job early on and won it back. He will be harder to beat next year than this year= fact. Georgia has played sloppy and almost lost some games to weaker foes this year. I stand by my claim that this was the best year we will have to beat these 3 top team for the next few years.

And proves that starting more doesn’t mean better so that completely invalidates your assumption that this will be our best chance of beating them because their QBs started this year.
There’s no fact in your post, just dumb assumptions! Fact!

Nico needs lot of playing time this year, in order to be ready for the start of next year
Yet another unknown opinion .
Talent trumps experience 10 times out of 10.
Joe has had 6 years to get ready,
I’m it wouldn’t be to hard to find a sophomore or 2 that played very little as freshman that are better.

We are not winning anything meaningful this year so give up on the scenarios for making Atlanta. Georgia is pretty much a lock now.

However, Tennessee could still win 8 or 9 games and make a Bowl Game. Then if they win the bowl game, that is a 9/10 win season. I would call that a success.

Unfortunately, we are not a top program. We always have superior SEC programs in front of us. Even in the 1990s, we got punked every year by Florida even though we had left Alabama behind that decade. Then after Florida fell off, it was Alabama (or Alabama, Florida, and Georgia). Now it is Georgia in the way.

Tennessee just can't get elite and go on runs like Alabama did, Georgia now, or Florida under Urban Meyer. We are not that good of a program.
I think the SEC yesterday made an effort with officials to remind us we have a place in this conference and we should not forget that.

Then why did CJH start JM instead of Nico ( using your logic that he is bad and experience makes no difference.) I'm not saying that because Milton has started multiple games, that it makes him a great qb, but it should give us a better chance to win against teams starting a fresh qb with almost zero game playing time. And again, you ignore my comparison that everyone of the current qb's at Fla, Georgia, and Bama will be better next year and harder to beat due to more game time and experience.

I don't mean Nico starts, I mean we have 2 games left we should be able to get a good lead early and Nico go in and run the same offense we would normaly run, well like we ran the first half of the Bama game. If this was done and Nico is as good as advertised he would be ready at the start of next season.

Absolutely. I think we got scared of Bama run defense. We hang our hats on running game and we didn't try to establish it at all. Bama can be run on this year, but there was no creativity in the run game except Milton running more. No traps...nothing but running plays that seemed designed to gain yards on 3rd and short. Still, the 4th down calls, especially the last one changed the momentum in the game. We were up 20-17 and gave them a very short field...coaching blunder for sure on that one.
Absolutely it was, I can’t for the life of me understand what Heupel is thinking. If you are going for a first down at your own 45 yard line, then you line your qb up under the center and do it as fast as you can. Snap the damn ball before the defense gets set. Hell, you teach that in pee wee football. Heupel is getting paid millions to make stupid decisions. Somebody needs to wake up and torch his ass!

I don't have a problem with the " run Milton more" approach. If you remember he had his greatest gains running out to the right or left and NOT running up the middle where they had stuffed us all game long. This game stung because we had a senior starting qb with Bama having a first year qb just like Florida did. We should have won both these games. These opportunities don't come around often and we squandered them. Next year, we start a new Qb and Florida/Bama/Georgia will be playing with a 2nd year starters. This was our year and it was just wasted away by restricting JM and the entire offense. Throw the darn ball and let your players make plays.
This is Milroe's 3rd year in that system Redshirt Sophomore he's basically had close to same system reps as Milton in his 3rd year at UT system & Florida QB is a 5th year Portal started at Wisconsin and they fired Paul Chryst he portaled.

Starting on the 4 yard line limits play calls, thanks ref with the mysterious call that said the off returner signaled for fair catch. That basically was a turnover.

Brady never ran. Manning never ran. Marino never ran
They didn’t have to. They were super smart and could process the Defense quickly. Make decisions quickly. Milton isn’t very smart and he processes the defense at a snails pace. He’s like Homer Simpson but with a cannon for an arm.

We've had a couple of games this year where our offense just disappears in the second half, one of those was yesterday. You call Milton and the QB room into a meeting and tell them the next time the offense becomes ineffective with Milton on the field we make a change in that game. He's the starter this year for every game if and until he becomes ineffective. We lose nothing if he does nothing so others are going to come in behind him to get a chance to build on next season when ineffectiveness hits the offense.

you would trust those refs to spot it right after the qb sneak.they already screwed us twice on 2 of joe runs w/ the spot.big pile of bodies, they gonna mark it short every time plus we were getting no line push.
