I blew a gasket because I hadn't been on the site since the afternoon and the first thread I see when logging on is three pages about Noah being ugly and, while there were 15 people who agreed with that sentiment, there weren't but one or two who mentioned that he was an outstanding basketball player.

I normally don't get this angry about things but it just rubbed me the wrong way and when I called "you" (collectively) on it I got attacked for defending the guy.

Or at least that's the way I took it.

Whatever.

well, LG, i think we have both learned that you can't have an intelligible disagreement with anyone on this board b/c the entire memberlist will come out of the woodwork and flame you for it. i stood up for him, i got flamed, you stood up for him, you got flamed.... they make it seem like we are the jerks for standing up for the guy.

bottom line is that if you have a differing opinion than 99% of the vol fans on this board, they will all jump on the bandwagon against you with irrelevant and poorly-justified comebacks. such is life.

Most of the folks on here are pretty reasonable, IMHO. Not all, but most. And my suspicion is that at least a few of them felt pretty bad about joining in on the schoolyard teasing of Noah, once they got called on it.

Just like UT fans bristle when a Gator calls Fulmer fat, UF fans are going to take issue with a Vol sayinbg that Noah is ugly. Fulmer's size has nothing to do with how well he coaches. Noah's appearance has nothing to do with how well he plays.

For my part in making fun of Fulmer's girth in the past, I'm sorry. Probably a few of you feel a tinge of guilt for making fun of an enthusiastic 23 year old kid that plays for the love of the game and his university. Or at least you should, anyway.

well, Fulmer is just a bit on the gravity-challenged side and Chavis is challenged even harder.

Noah ain't exactly pretty, but with the money he's going to make in the NBA, will it really matter?
