Its mind bottling how stubborn and/or infatuated with Dayne Davis this staff is.

I remember one game years ago when the place kicker got hurt in practice, and the backup pulled a muscle while warming up and we had no kicker. The UT police had to go fetch a walk-on from his frat house, escort him to the stadium and he suited up and ended up scoring a field goal and three extra points and getting the game ball. Can't remember how long ago that was, but thought it was funny.
I remember. Seemed like an out of conference or weak SEC opponent that night. Caraayzeee! 😀

It will be interesting to see how much more playing time guys like Jeremias Heard and Gage Glinther can get for the remainder of this season.

I agree - it truly bottles the mind. ;)
No what truly "bottles" the mind is that after 4 years, we still haven't managed to develop enough O-line depth, where when you look over at the other side of the ball, Rodney Garner has so many quality defensive linemen, they're crawling out of his ears! What's up with that Elarbee???

No O-line = no offense.

The video interview with Dooley was icing on the cake, IIRC. That dude could spin a good story!

Enough line depth for what?

Give us an example of a college with adequate line depth and describe their 2 deep and how they’re different than Tennessee.

Enough quality depth where if we put in our 2nd string tackles, the edges don't completely cave in and our QB gets strip sacked two times in a row! I don't think enough is being said about how damn lucky we were in that game. 99% of the time, the opposing QB doesn't fumble that ball on the 5 yard line and gives it right back to us. They punch it in for 6. Then on the following series throws a backwards pass, resulting in another turnover. We were damn fortunate that those two turnovers didn't cost us points or possibly even the win.

To be honest, other than maybe Cooper Mays, the O-line as a whole I thought played rather poorly. Our RB's had to fight and claw for every yard they got. Oklahoma's d-line kind of shoved us around and stuffed a lot of our runs, if we're being honest.

No one has two experienced NFL bound left tackles on their roster

The need to complain often outweighs reality

May end up being the achilles heel of this team. Not sure anyone has 4 decent tackles on their roster though. That's asking a lot.

If Heard/Campbell/Johnson can remain healthy going forward we will be fine.

Not true at all. Lance Heard was a 5 star O-lineman and transferred from LSU because (aside from NIL), he knew he could come here and start immediately. At LSU he would've been 2nd string. You don't think places like Georgia, Ohio State, Texas, and Alabama have blue chip linemen in the 2-deep?? They absolutely do!

If Rodney Garner could put together a 3-deep rotation of D-linemen with very little drop in quality, there's no excuse for why Elarbee couldn't have developed a 2-deep rotation on the O-line of similar quality in 4 years!

LSU has 2 that are projected 1st rounders, which is why Heard is at Tennessee.

But also, that’s extremely rare. I do think that there will be multiple future NFL OTs on next year’s Tennessee team.
