I would move Kerbyson back to RG.Put Blair at LT, and Pair at RT and take my chances. Can't be any worse than what we got now.

My move would be Kerbyson to RG, Kendrick to LT and Sanders to RT. Leave Jackson at LG.

Well here is a list of the depth chart. It appears any options would include replacing Freshmen with either Redshirt Freshmen or Sophomores. I knew it was bad, but seeing the depth on paper made it worse.

77 Kyler Kerbyson LT 6' 4" 312 RS JR
63 Brett Kendrick LT/RG 6' 6" 316 RS FR

75 Marcus Jackson LG 6' 2" 306 RS JR
60 Austin Sanders LG 6' 5" 311 RS FR

57 Mack Crowder C 6' 2" 295 RS JR
71 Dylan Wiesman C 6' 3" 303 SO

73 Jashon Robertson RG 6' 3" 304 FR
63 Brett Kendrick LT/RG 6' 6" 316 RS FR

55 Coleman Thomas RT 6' 6" 328 FR
74 Dontavius Blair T 6' 8" 300 JR (JUCO)

Not listed on 2 deep:
66 Marques Pair OL 6' 5" 327 RS SR
65 Jacob Gilliam LT 6' 4" 297 RS SR
79 Thomas Edwards OL 6' 4" 322 RS FR
64 Ray Raulerson OL 6' 5" 278 FR
68 Benson Napier OL 6' 3" 327 FR

No.way does Pair play ahead of Sanders or Kendrick...or even Kerby at RT. IMO
I want to know why Wiesman lost a spot at G to Robertson with only a month or so of practice? Injuries it seems ive heard may be the issue....anybody?

That's probably true, but Pair is the biggest OT we have on our roster, right now...and has been in the S&C program for 5yrs now....plus 5yr's worth of practices.

Can't tell me he'd be worse than Coleman Thomas. Pair was recruited because he was surprisingly quick on his feet. Cannot imagine that foot quickness and strength levels are an impediment to him starting over a true freshman.

The Coleman Thomas experiment is a bust. You think CBJ and Mahoney have caught hell for fielding such a pi$$-poor OL, thus far. Just wait until after the Ole Mi$$ game.

Pair is just not quick enough. Thomas is our best option at RT even if he is playing out of position. He is not a bust. He's improving game by game.

When you look at the depth chart, there are no true OTs in the pipeline except Blair. Thomas will make a good OG or C. We need 2-3 that can play OT in the 2015 class.

I was just looking over the 2015 recruiting class and noticed that we currently have 5 OL commits for next year. Three of which are 4 star recruits. There is one kid from Beech high school which happens to be just a mile down the road from me that I've never heard of. I see him listed as 6' 1" 240 lbs. Surely they don't project him playing the o-line. Anyone know anything about him?

What's your evidence for his improvement?

He isn't playing because of a shoulder problem, IIRC.

I'm basing my assessment on what I see in the games. I just look at the game play by play. There were plays in the game where each and everyone of the OL were beaten. Those plays are part of the assessment, but the game is not just one play. We need to look at the total body of work. UC was a good game to help in their development because they had a decent DL and challenged on every play.

Don't get me wrong. The OL is a mess and definitely a work in progress. But they are improving. The number of horror plays will still be there, but they will have a fair share of successes as well. The bottom line is that we have players playing out of their natural position. With the exception of Blair, we don't have any true OTs on the roster. NONE!!! Until Blair gets his strength and technique up to SEC standards, we won't see him playing. A redshirt for him came as a surprise, but not totally unexpected. As CBJ says, OL is a developmental position.

As I have said repeatedly, the 2015 class needs at least 3 true OT recruits. Hall is the real deal, but he needs a redshirt year to heal from surgery. We need Sweet and Richmond to complement Jones and Stewart. It would help a lot if Jackson would be open to the possibility of helping at OT. He has similar athletism as Hall. Boulware will be a beast at OG but not at OT.

I'm frustrated like everyone else, but I still understand the situation and cut them a break.

Edit: I forgot to mention Burrell and Allen. Burrell is a possibility at OT, but they are probably better at OG.

People! I think you need only to use this year as a great example. Freshman....RARELY come in and make a big impact on the OL. So, these new recuits will have the opportunity to "compete", but best case scenario is our OL gets bigger, faster, stronger and smarter about how to perform in the SEC, but the new guys will more than likely get some snaps, but starting? I don't think so, unless injuries bite UT. This team is two years away from being in the Top 10. Let's all sit back and watch CBJ build this program and enjoy the development of a GREAT Football Team.

So you want to recruit more O Lineman than we have committed? So we could possibly play more freshman's

They will be fine, this years Lineman will be a year older and more experienced and we will have younger players that will be able to learn as they get stronger.

Take a Break CBJ has got this, and he takes his job seriously.

Well he better start winning or he will be looking for a job at the end of yr 3.
