If Tiger Woods had a personality, he could be VY.
If Kobe Bryant had a soul, he could be VY.
If LeBron James had a strong will, he could be VY.
If Mike Vick had all of these things, he could be VY.
If Joe Montana was 6-5, 240, and ran a 4.5, he could have been VY.
If Secretariat had been human, he would have been VY.
If VY stays healthy, he will be MJ.

Vince Young could be in the top 3 of the NFL in the next 3-5 years if he had any sort of talent on that team at all.

 Unbelievable! You guys have the same type of mancrush on an unproven Vince Young as Lawgator and the rest of the Gator fans have on Tebow.

I laughed my a$$ off at the comment that he could be in the top three in the NFL if he had any talent around him.

If all of these guys were much less talented, they would be Vince Young.

Did you notice that after it said the top 3 qbs it also said in 3-5 years. If you don't think he has the potential to be a top 3 qb in the next 3-5 years then you need to start watching more football.

Unless Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, and Carson Palmer retire in the next 3-5 years (which won't happen) Vince has no prayer.

Manning may retire, Palmer's good, but Vince will be better, and you're dead right about Brady. Did you bother to watch the final 10 games of the Titans last season. He by far had the most amazing plays. He made a very untalented Titans team look like a playoff team. He's a great leader that is determined to make himself and others better. Did you not see that 40 yard game winning run against the Texans, did you not see the 21 point comeback against the Giants, did you not see the other comeback wins against Buffalo, Indy, and Houston. He took a team that had won 9 games the previous 2 seasons and won 5 straight and was a game away from making the playoffs. While Palmer who is apperently better had 10x more talent on his team, but finished at 8-8.

Manning won't retire for another 7 years minimum. He's said this already. And yes, I saw all those games you mentioned. There were other guys that contributed to the Titans success. Travis Henry is gone. Pac-Man is temporarily gone. I don't see Vince Young finishing the season next year. I'd hate to see it, but I really think he's going to have to scramble too much and he'll end up having to miss a game or two with injury.

Even if Vince does manage to have another successful season which might begin to put him in the same league as Carson Palmer, he still hasn't distinguished himself as the best QB drafted in 2006. He's got quite a ways to go before I'll even consider him being in the top 3.

I mean I don't think he'll make it more than 10-12 years in the NFL before he starts to feel the effects from his running, but right now he's done quite a bit more with quite a bit less than what anyone in the NFL did last year.

What do you mean he's not the best quarterback from the 2006 draft class?

Matt Leinart played decent last year. Cutler has tons of potential. Both those guys are in way better positions to succeed. It wouldn't surprise me at all for both of them to be more successful than Vince. I think you guys are setting Vince on a very, very high pedestal. That will make it a lot more painful when he falls off it next season.

Manning, Brady, Palmer. There is zero chance of Vince Young eclipsing any of these 3 guys in the next 3 to 5 years.

Damn. Someone else on this board actually gets it.

Yeah, I like Vince Young. I liked him in college, and I still think he's pretty entertaining to watch. He was a phenomenal college player; arguably in the top 3 for this decade. BUT, I still have a hard time saying he's going to be smashing success in the pros. I'm not sure if he's even passed for 200 yards in a game yet. This treatment of him is reminding me a lot of Arian Foster after the '05 season. He was regarded as the guy that would take UT to the promised land in '06. When he couldn't do it everyone was ready to write him off. It's ridiculous really. Still, I'd be surprised if the same thing doesn't happen to Vince Young.

Well, if you recall, I was the primary person pointing out that Arian Foster was overhyped going into the 2006 season. I'm still not writing him off. He just doesn't walk on water like everyone wanted to believe he could.
