WOW! Missouri State isn't even one of the MVC's elite teams this year. Score another huge win for the mid majors!

How about Oregon beating Georgetown. Less than a week after I called UofO athletics the biggest group of underachievers in Division I athletics. Let's see if they can transfer that play to Washington, Arizona and UCLA.

A busy and wild college football Saturday is the day to get upset, no one notices.

Marquette lost to North Dakota State and Kansas fell again, this time to DePaul.

Florida is overrated.

??? Defending national champions! Everyone returned for this season! Overrated is not the word I would chose to describe this team. Remember, they played best at the end of last season. They'll win the SEC East and probably will be a final four team.

#5 Alabama lost to Notre Dame tonight. I thought Alabama had this one early. I turned it off early in the first half and they had it under control.

UMASS goes into Freedom Hall and beats Louisville 72-68. Not that big an upset. I won't be shocked if the Minutemen win the A-10.

Man, when I was younger, I rooted for Calipari's UMASS squads. Of course I liked Camby, but my favorite player was Lou Roe! Love that name, too.

Cal's pre-Camby teams, with Roe, Derek Kellog, Harper Williams, Wil Herndon, Tony Barbee, Jim McCoy, et al were some of the toughest teams you'll ever see.

Wasn't there a season with Roe and Camby? I faintly remember a Final Four game against a Joe Smith-led Maryland team?

Nevermind, that was apparently a Camby-less UMass team in 1994 against Joe Smith's Maryland team .... in the 2nd round. My memory sucks.
