The Colts have done excellent in the draft. James is a good FA pickup. I'm anxious to see who else they add.

Yes they have. A good kick returner is something that's really been missing from this team for a long time.

if Brandon James turns out, he has Devin Hester potential

(unfortunately though if one of these UDFAs goes on to be a consistent and good starter - something in the realm of QB like Romo or something - that might have to go to him)


cause James is going to most likely have that same problem Hester has - he'll be absolutely great on special teams, but when they start trying to get him to help elsewhere on offense, it's not going to pan out as well

The Colts aren't the Bears, they don't need James to do squat for their offense. The most you'll see out of him on O is a pop screen once in a blue moon.

I never said they would ever need to

What I was getting at was really he can't be used on offense at all; remember that was the problem UF had with him. Meyer consistantly wanted to try to get him involved on offense (after what he had seen on offense) but everytime he tried to get something from it, it wouldnt workout: he wasnt effective on offense, they tried it multiple times

Colts won't need him to be; and if he lives up to his returning potential then that's fine and won't be needed; I was just saying from what was seen, he's not able ton contribute really at all elsewhere
