Besides it being to long, I would say that it was a good speech.
The more I think about it, I dunno that any commentator on MSNBC has ever said anything negative about a Democrat. I haven't been watching MSNBC for too long, but I don't believe I have.
Bureau of Labor Statistics Data
Obama took office in jan 09. I'm not finding a job growth of 4.5 million. Plus who took congress after the 06 elections. Then he mentioned how job growth took off in 95-96. Who was in charge of congress then.

Not to be picky but the graph and chart show all jobs. The 4.5 million is specifically about private sector jobs. Not saying that the number is correct, but you could create a lot of private sector jobs but still end up with a negative number for a month because of public sector layoffs.
GOP in change in 95-96.
IIRC The GOP took control in '94 with Newts Contract with America.
The difference then and now is the congress and white house negotiated and passed some good bills.
And this president does not believe in bipartisanship. Remember the "I won" remark when meeting over the stimulus. When democrats are in charge of congress it seems we have more job losses. By looking at the graphs it seems.

Your point? I graduated college in that same time period. Most of my friends have found work. I'm not saying the 4.5 number is correct, I was just pointing out the flaws in the information that was supplied.
I question some if his numbers but that was one of the best political speeches I have ever heard.
In my lifetime there has been 2 great communicators and one spoke tonight, the other was Reagan.
I would hate to be in Obama shoes and try to top this tomorrow night.
My fear with Obama is I see in four years him handing over a deficit of 20 plus billion, over 60% on government payroll, 8.5% or higher unemployment, and an increase in taxes for everyone making 35K or more.
