I see a lot of the same qualities in cuonzo that i do in serrano. teams just can't finish well late in games. i know this doesn't really apply to bam a but we have lost so many games this year in the 8/9th inning.
he needs to be on the hot seat. Mayberry not fired this year. but if he can't get it done next year, GET HIM OUT!!!
It was always a 5 year rebuilding project minimum.
The team has improved dramatically and is still in last place.
That should tell you what he took over

Dave won championships. He's easily a top 10 college coach. He could easily manage in the MLB. We're very lucky Serrano didn't feel insulted and refused us.
Dave is our best coach at UT.

He may be a great coach, but at some point, we need results. Period.
I'm in the coach's corner but let's not get carried away.
Championships? Technically true since his teams have won conference titles and regional and two super regional titles. But generally when we talk about "championships" we're talking about national titles.
Top Ten? Hard to say. Since 2011, every new coach hired in the SEC has taken a team to the CWS as head coach with the exception of Holbrook, who of course was the assistant for SC's national championships. He has taken two different teams to CWS, but others in the SEC been there as often.
Could easily manage in MLB? Without any pro experience as a player or coach, not hardly.
I'm glad CDS is here. He was the best available coach when hired. I've said from the beginning we shouldn't judge him until after the 2015 season, and I think any talk of replacing him before his full 5-year contract is up is ridiculous. I'm encouraged by signs of progress, but we need to remember he is being asked to do something he hasn't done before--rebuild a last place team in the toughest conference in the country. Patience.
Frankly, I don't understand the panic I see. If we do as well in the second half of the conference schedule as we did in the first half, we will get to Hoover with 12 wins. Vandy might need to push the panic button, and SC might start thinking about it. But we are basically on track.
He built Irvine from the ground up. I'm more impressed with coaches who win at two different schools than winning at the same school twice. Charlie Manuel never had MLB experience, and he's great.
I don't understand the panic either. It's not like were fielding a team full of experienced guys. He hasn't even fully built his roster yet. I'm excited for the new recruiting class, and our guys after this year.
