Lets post any information we see related to who is being contacted about fililng the staff. Jones is a good football coach but his success is going to depend on who he surrounds himself with. It would be great if this thread contained more reported infomation and less rants and opinions.

Imo I think hinshaw as sp teams, but not qb or receivers. It would be nice if he could steal trooper back or martin. But I think he has to make a huge dc hire. Id offer chavis a huge amount to come back, though I'm sure he wouldn't...

Does Jones have any experience recruiting the South? If not, I hope he can bring in some good recruiters to help.

I've said all day that I'm extremely disappointed in this hire and am in no way happy. I blame Hart and Cheek and can't blame Jones for taking the job. Though I'm not happy I'm gonna give the guy a little support til he proves he doesn't deserve it.

With that said if he comes in here and runs off the two competent assisstants we have (especially CJG) he'll be well on the way to loosing that little bit of support he was given.

Excellent!! Bringing in UT guys that have the passion for this school is huge. That sells recruits. Him selling Tennessee is difficult right now. CBJ (I am not really a fan how how that looks, haha) is off to a good start trying to bring Tee back. Let's not forget Tee is the exact kind of quarterback that Butch wants as well. So it's a natural marriage.

I just want the staff to have a Vol feel to it. We need people who know how great this thing can be.

I would love it if he could bring back Chavis, or Steele, Tee Martin, Marion Hobby, or whoever else. Keep Jay Graham and Sam Pittman.

No way he doesn't keep Graham. If he isn't smart enough to keep him, that tells me all I need to know about him. Should probably retain Pittman too.

I want the staff to be the best it can be. If that means UT blood then so be it.
Is Tee really a great coach? Graham has proven it. Hinshaw has done good things here, as well as Pittman.

Yes, Tee really is a good coach. Improved the careers of Randall Cobb and Chris Matthews while at KY. Has managed the careers of Marquise Lee and Woods at USC. He's been ranked as one of the top 25 recruiters in the nation.

I'd say that makes him pretty good.

If he brings Tee back then the hire looks slightly better. I agree that he needs to keep Pittman and JG and maybe even Hinshaw.

For DC, please try to get Randy Shannon and then let him put the defensive staff together.

lSeriously though, Sykvester Croom wants it bad..

Give me a break with this Jones Juice BS....This program has been destroyed...
