If he brings Tee back then the hire looks slightly better. I agree that he needs to keep Pittman and JG and maybe even Hinshaw.

For DC, please try to get Randy Shannon and then let him put the defensive staff together.

Shannon is breathless with anticipation to work for Cheek, Hart and Butch Jones...LMAO:hi:

Please wake up ...:eek:lol:

I want the staff to be the best it can be. If that means UT blood then so be it.
Is Tee really a great coach? Graham has proven it. Hinshaw has done good things here, as well as Pittman.

I agree with graham and pitman, but I don't think hinshaw has done well at anything other than recruiting. Tyler bray never learned anything while he was qb coach and the recievers route running seemed to degress plus all were dropping easy passes. I personally don't care for hinshaw

If he's smart, he'll find a couple of guys who have some pretty strong recruiting/high school contacts in georgia and florida. We need some dynamic recruiters with contacts in the south.

Now that we have a new coach, I bet there are plenty of coaches that will come knowing they have at least 2-3 years here...My staff looks like this:

OC/QB: Chaney or someone that has a good track record (Jeremy Bates)
WR-Tee Martin
RB-Jay Graham
OL-Sam Pittman
DC: Ron Zook/Randy Shannon
DL: Marion Hobby
LB: If Zook is DC then Zook; if Shannon as DC then Al Wilson
S: Someone with Tennessee blodd
CB: If Zook is DC then someone with tennessee blood ; if Shannon is DC then Shannon

No way Zook or Shannon joins Butch Jones staff @ UT

Why not, is this just pessimism or is it that you know for a fact? They have renewed opportunities to get back into the game as a DC, so they can either stay as a DC or move back into coaching. I think it is very plausible if the money and intent is there...

Please tell me that Chaney and the entire defensive staff won't be here...

Yeah because you really don't want to keep an OC who just produced 37 ppg in the nation's toughest defensive conference.:eek:k: That my friend... is incredibly stupid. He may not want to keep Chaney but Chaney has done an very good job at UT. If not for Bray being a choker... his O might have saved Dooley from Sal's D by winning 2 or 3 more games.

They should consider Conklin. He's a bright young coach.

OC Bajakian has been with CBJ for a while. DC Jancek (SEC/GA experience) joined the Cincy staff 2010. Zook, Narduzzi, or Heacock would be solid DC hires. IMO

Would like to see Graham and Pittman (doubtful) remain and Tee brought in.

CBJ said he will have/put together the best staff, let's see what develops...

I've said all day that I'm extremely disappointed in this hire and am in no way happy. I blame Hart and Cheek and can't blame Jones for taking the job. Though I'm not happy I'm gonna give the guy a little support til he proves he doesn't deserve it.

With that said if he comes in here and runs off the two competent assisstants we have (especially CJG) he'll be well on the way to loosing that little bit of support he was given.

It would be great if this thread contained more reported infomation and less rants and opinions

It is now reported by Hyams that Jones will keep Graham, but will let go Chaney and Pittman. Hinshaw is still being evaluated.

Some may be upset at letting Pittman go, but in Jones offense, his blocking scheme is extremely important. It may be better to bring his own guy in for this one.

No way he doesn't keep Graham. If he isn't smart enough to keep him, that tells me all I need to know about him. Should probably retain Pittman too.

Yeah, if he gets rid of Graham, Volnation will hate him forever. No way he is that stupid.

"Running backs coach Jay Graham will be retained by Jones.

Recruiting coordinator and wide receivers coach Darin Hinshaw will be interviewed by Jones with a chance to return.

Offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Jim Chaney, offensive line coach Sam Pittman, defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Sal Sunseri, defensive line coach John Palermo, cornerbacks coach Derrick Ansley, safeties coach Josh Conklin and special teams coordinator and tight ends coach Charlie Coiner have been dismissed. "

Getting rid of all the coaches on D was a given and Pittman was gone because the blocking schemes are going to be way different...fans need to give this guy some time, its a new system all around....hope he can find us some kickers and a punter

Good decisions.

I hope for recruiting's sake, he keeps Hinshaw. If he could find a way to get Martin, Graham and Hinshaw, he'd have a good thing.
