Official BCS bowl matchups

Dennis Dodd brings up an interesting question. First time in BCS history the likely Heisman winner and the likely Coach of the Year won't be in BCS bowls, correct?

Gotta pull for VaTech in this one. My corporate is in the Detroit area, and I hear enough Michigan love all year long even when they don't win.

My girlfriend is a Tech grad and I will absolutely not be cheering for them to win, even when I usually do. The fact that they're in this game is horribly embarrassing.

Since the Heisman is based on a total body of work I wish they would award the trophy after the Bowl games

I agree with you on that. I wish MI would have had a much tougher opponent. I fear I will hear how MI came down from the big 10 and won the "SEC" bowl game.

he should be

complaint was more targeted at

1) that shouldn't have been necessary for him to get there

and perhaps more

2) it's disturbing that ESPN has that much control in the Heisman process (or in college football decisions and selections period)...if the selection has bottled down to ESPN selects and pushes a candidate and the voters just going "Drm, Okay!"...there's just something that ill about that reality

I'm not a fan of ESPN, but RG3 deserves the heisman this year.

I'd like to see Michigan vs RG III and Baylor.

that'd have been interesting.

Baylor's fans are notorious about not traveling at all though.

Texas A&M released their visitor ticket sale numbers while Baylor was attempting to sue, the only team A&M played at home who didn't sell less tickets than Baylor was Idaho

here it is:

they sold 830 total of their visitors tickets

Texas A&M said that Idaho, with 264, was the only opposing team that will play at Kyle Field this year that purchased fewer tickets from the Aggies than Baylor, whose Waco campus is less than 100 miles away. Texas was the only team to keep its full allotment of 3,850 tickets available to all visiting teams. SMU took 1,988 tickets, followed by Kansas (1,750), Missouri (1,600) and Oklahoma State (1,428).

freakin SMU travels better

Baylor has a pretty small fan base, so I wasn't surprised that they were never in legitimate BCS consideration. But what about Kansas State or Boise State?

Let's see i'm looking forward to

LSU/Bama
Ok.St/ Stan.
TOSU vs Florida- Will Meyer be coaching this game the Bucks?
K.State vs Arkansas- Not a SEC honk, but I'M for Arkansas.
W.Va vs Clemson- shouldn't be a BCS bowl but it will be entertaining
Wisconsin vs Oregon will be a good game. Wisconsin can put up points too.

FSU vs Notre Dame- Go Noles
*edit* forgot about dem Bearcats vs the Commodedoors

That's about it

Everyone is griping about vt, but they aren't the only ones who shouldn't be in one. No big east team should be there. Don't think Clemson should be there either, too many big losses. I will say I think this vt team is more deserving than when they got in with a loss to James Madison, I thought that should have been an automatic out. It all comes down to being conference champ, but that doesn't make you a good team.

I agree about all these games! Hate nd! My bf thinks Oregon will be a lock, but I don't see their d stopping Wisconsin. High scoring, just like arky/lsu.

I rustled up a bit of information:

Snubs
#8 Kansas State (10-2)/#2 Big XII
Wins vs. current BCS Top 25: 3 (Baylor 36-35, Mizzou 24-17, Texas 17-13)
Losses vs. current BCS Top 25: 2 (Oklahoma 58-17, Oklahoma State 52-45)
Losses outside BCS Top 25: 0

#15 Michigan State (10-3)/#1 Legends, #2 B1G
Wins vs. current BCS Top 25: 2 (Michigan 28-14, Wisconsin 37-31)
Losses vs. current BCS Top 25: 2 (Nebraska 24-3, Wisconsin 42-39)
Losses outside BCS Top 25: 1 (Notre Dame 31-13)

#7 Boise State (11-1)/#2 MWC
Wins vs. current BCS Top 25: 1 (Georgia 35-21)
Losses vs. current BCS Top 25: 1 (TCU 36-35)
Losses outside BCS Top 25: 0

#13 Baylor (9-3)/#3 Big XII
Wins vs. current BCS Top 25: 4 (TCU 50-48, Missouri 42-39, Oklahoma 45-38, Texas 48-24)
Losses vs. current BCS Top 25: 2 (Kansas State 36-35, Ok. State 59-24)
Losses outside BCS Top 25: 1 (Texas A&M 55-28)

#18 TCU (10-2)/#1 MWC
Wins vs. current BCS Top 25: 1 (Boise State 36-35)
Losses vs. current BCS Top 25: 1 (Baylor 50-48)
Losses outside BCS Top 25: 1 (SMU 40-33)

A selection of BCS teams that (in my opinion) don't deserve BCS bids
#12 Michigan (10-2)/#2 Legends, #3 B1G
Wins vs. current BCS Top 25: 1 (Nebraska 45-17)
Losses vs. current BCS Top 25: 1 (Michigan State 28-14)
Losses outside BCS Top 25: 1 (Iowa 24-16)

#11 Virginia Tech (11-2)/#1 Coastal, #2 ACC
Wins vs. current BCS Top 25: 0
Losses vs. current BCS Top 25: 2 (Clemson 23-3, Clemson 38-10)
Losses outside BCS Top 25: 0

#23 West Virginia (9-3)/Tied #1 Big East *Big East Champions*
Wins vs. current BCS Top 25: 0
Losses vs. current BCS Top 25: 1 (LSU 47-21)
Losses outside BCS Top 25: 2 (Syracuse 49-23, Louisville 38-35)

#19 Clemson (10-3)/#1 Atlantic, #1 ACC *ACC Champions*
Wins vs. current BCS Top 25: 2 (Virginia Tech 23-3, Virginia Tech 38-10)
Losses vs. current BCS Top 25: 1 (South Carolina 34-13)
Losses outside BCS Top 25: 2 (Georgia Tech 31-17, NC State 37-13)

Most of the numbers speak for themselves. This is disregarding some rules currently in place, obviously.
