What would someone have to gain by essentially blowing $150+ million Mayweather-Pacman fight?

I just chalk it up to Eugenia Williams-esque dumb judges...

In the world of boxing , no telling. It also seems like that fight , for whatever reason , is/was never going to happen. It's been a strange day in Vegas. First a horse going for the triple crown is pulled. Now this. The judges might be dumb , but it doesn't mean they weren't paid to be.

They acted like it was a foregone conclusion that Manny won. You never know who to trust when you see it. You never know who got paid. The delay was strange. I've never heard of a guy waiting to fight until he is done watching a basketball game. I'm not passing blame to the guy who lost , but boxing is so messed up , you just never know.
Pac landed over ten percent more of his punches, no way he didn't dominate on the stat sheet. Percentage, power punches, all of it. That scoring made zero sense.

Hey , I'm just glad I didn't waste my money on it. Hope none of you did either.
Hell no. I'd just as soon bet on figure skating.

Bill Simmons just tweeted that there was a bunch of late money on Bradley.

No doubt Manny won. Late money on Bradley sort of seems odd. They delay was strange. Seriously , who watches a NBA game before a fight? Maybe that had something to do with the late bets. Something stinks. They can't fix this sport. Not in my eyes. You would think with all the problems , they would have professional judges. That might ruin their plans though.

Couldn't been enough to eclipse the amount of money that would have changed hands with a Mayweather-Pacman fight.

I don't think there are anymore big payday fights on the horizon after that.

The Mayweather fight can still happen, will still get a ton of PPV buys and be like Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween and a birthday all wrapped into one for bookies nationwide.

Either way, I could see this fight being the subject of a future 30 for 30

This fight desperately needed Larry Merchant instead of Mario Lopez & Max Kellerman. I can only imagine what kind of questions Merchant would have had for Bradley.

This PAC loss sets up a PAC-Bradley rematch about the time that piece of garbage Mayweather gets out of jail. Mayweather then fights the winner. It's all about $$$. Boxing is dead though, it just finished off the most painful and longest lasting suicide in history.

I watched the fight up until the 4th round when I actually decided that Bradley didn't have a chance in hell of winning I laid down and pretty much passed out after being up since 4.a.m.

....then around midnight, I got a flood of texts asking me what the hell just happened.

I turn on sportscenter. Bradley won? ....I didn't really pay attention to the scoring, laughed and went back to sleep.

I woke up today thinking it was just a dream.

48 of 51 ringside commentators had Pacquiao winning on their scorecards... so did other fighters

“Listen, I love Tim Bradley…he's a friend. This is not his fault. Tim lost the fight, that's all I can say,” said Oakland’s super middleweight champion Andre Ward, who was ringside.

“Fix,” said junior middleweight titleholder Austin Trout.

“Unbelievable! This is another stain on boxing. Even worse than my draw with [Evander] Holyfield!” exclaimed former heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis.

Even Floyd Mayweather Sr., the father of Pacquiao archrival Floyd Mayweather Jr.—a man who has hurled a parade of insulting diatribes in the Filipino’s direction—felt that the final score did not reflect the rightful victor.

“Pacquiao did win the fight, but it wasn’t his night tonight,” Mayweather Sr. told reporters at the postfight press conference.

He seemed to be just as shocked / disgusted as anyone else.

I'm as big of a boxing fan as anyone, watching cards just about every weekend, but even as someone who will never stop watching the sport I'm also still incredibly cynical about almost every aspect of it.

I'd have been shocked if Arum had acted any other way than disgusted that night and now I've seen where he is already denying a rematch due to asking for an investigation. All that said, I'll be equally as shocked if there isn't a rematch near the end of the year. I trust absolutely nothing that comes out of Bob Arum's mouth.

I'm not sure when this became official but I read where Tyson is going to fight again with former ECW president Paul Heyman as his promoter.

The last boxing ppv I saw was Tyson's last fight against some Irish guy. Tyson was winning every round then refuses to continue after 7ish rounds because "he isn't 'that' guy anymore".

Anyway, here is the first quick promo video.

I believe that's for a video game. He's done fighting. Here is a quote from the 24th of June from the NY Post-

Q.All right, why don’t we break some news here. Why don’t you announce your boxing comeback?

A: No way. I don’t even think about hurting people no more. ... Twenty-four hours of my life was thinking about hurting somebody. ... How am I gonna hurt that guy, how this pain is gonna feel, will he quit with this?

Roy Jones embarrassed himself again today, got battered and dropped by a last minute replacement in Poland, as his scheduled opponent is in the clink. Even worse, he somehow got the decision, which means he'll take at least one more beating.
