Official Bubble Watch/Games to watch thread

I saw you later said you're predicting losses and that's why you said that about the SECT. We can do enough in the regular season that the SECT won't matter, that was my point.

Yep. Vols will drop one at A&M, Miss ST, or Auburn. All three should be wins, but they will pull a no-show in one of these games. They can't help themselves.

Along those lines...

“@Ben_Fred: Jordan McRae on if the #Vols can make a run: "We are very capable of doing it. But our focus level has to be at an all-time high."”

The good news to me is at least they seem to be in touch with where they stand. Last year Martin said, our work is done, we are in. This year coaches and players are saying they've gotta win games, they're trying to win out, and that focus needs to be at an all time high.

We'll see what happens, it all starts tomorrow. They better come ready cause I can guarantee Missouri will be, this game is just as, if not more important to them as it is us.

Tonight's games for those who may have missed it...

7:00pm: Rhode Island vs. Dayton
7:00pm: Richmond vs. Duquesne
7:00pm: George Washington vs. VCU
7:00pm: George Mason vs. UMASS
8:00pm: Texas Tech vs. Oklahoma
9:00pm: LSU vs. Texas A&M
9:00pm: Stanford vs. Washington
9:15pm: New Mexico vs. Boise State
11:00pm California vs. Washington State

LSU is one of our "good" wins why would we want them to lose? They keep falling, our RPI falls. They're more on the bubble than us so I don't see us losing a spot to them unless we don't take care of business. We need OM, LSU and Mizzou (assuming we beat them) to win out and keep moving up, assuming we also win out. When you have very few signature wins, I don't see how it does us any good for our borderline wins to crash down the stretch.

We play Texas A&M twice, from purely a RPI standpoint Texas A&M winning helps us more than LSU. The reason is because A&M will count twice towards our SOS while LSU will only count once.

Now, I definitely see where you're coming from and get what you're saying. That becomes the difficult thing this time of year if you're in the spot we are. For example Xavier is a team ahead of us on most projected brackets, however they're also 1 of our good wins. You don't want to root against them because it takes away a good win for us, but you can see the dilemma.

LSU is behind us, but has multiple chances to add some big wins down the stretch that could hurdle them over us. There's not really a right or wrong stance, I chose to put them as the team to root against, but as you pointed out there's positives and negatives to them winning or losing.

If I missed any please let me know, I'll update the OP.

So going with your Texas A&M thought process which i totally agree with. I guess adding Florida over Kentucky tonight, due to playing gators twice instead of cats once.

Correct.

I haven't included games that effect our RPI just because that's a whole lot more games to add lol, but yea that's one that would. So not like most need another reason to cheer against UK tonight, but yea there ya go lol.

Virginia gets the W, that team is rolling.

Anyone catch Memphis/UCONN, headed to OT. Napier had a shot that went half way down twice before it popped out as time expired, great game.

Heard Jerry Palm on Gary Parrish's Show last night. He said a bad loss in one from a team with an RPI in the triple digits. That's not really news for most of us, but some do like to argue about it. Most of the interview was about the interesting dynamic with the AAC and how top heavy it is. It has no "middle class" which can help and hurt. Memphis, Cincy, and Louisville have no losses outside RPI 50, but one very big reason is the bottom of the league is so terrible that they don't play teams between 50-150 in RPI. Memphis has played one team in RPI 50-150 (LSU). Pretty interesting, and Parrish said no other league is like it. I am not saying about how good or not the league is (IMO it is pretty darn good at top), but I was just relaying the info.
