Official Bubble Watch Thread

This was a BAD loss today, make no mistake. Not because Georgia is bad, but they are not good and there are certain home games you should or have to win if you expect to get into the tourney. We are not going to beat UK at their place.

I love how high the bar has been raised for these Vols

UGA isn't horrible, but NCAA tourney teams don't lose at home to an UGA type team. This team has NIT written all over it. Losses to Miss St and this one are glaring examples. We have to basically win every other game if we lose to Ky and So Car as expected. This team hasn't shown it can do that.

Probably, but the NIT is a sign of progress. He has to make the tourney next year

Georgia is a better team, more talented team, than their record indicates, but this is a game we should have won, no doubt.

I haven't looked at it real closely, but if Memphis is 3 slots lower than us, then the Bubble is really weak. I knew it was a week or two ago looking at mid major standings. But Memphis beat a lot of weak OOC teams. They did beat OU and South Carolina, but OU is not good and Carolina did not have Thornwell. I hate it that we could squander a chance this year because the Bubble may be the weakest I have seen in quite some time.

Where's our RPI now?

After yesterday, I think it's a moot point. This team will be fortunate to make the NIT. At some point, the record has come into the equation. RPI alone just isn't enough plus we'll drop when we face some of the weaker SEC teams left on the schedule. Nothing short of beating USC and UK would be enough. Really a shame about Mostella and Fulk. Having those two would have likely been enough to offset the nights Hubbs doesn't show. Bottom line....this team has blown lead after lead after lead. They really don't deserve a spot given the body of work so far IMO.
