Official Bubble Watch Thread

If we get in. I dont care if its a play in game or not. This would be the best coaching job i have ever seen at Tennessee in my 46 years. We were not even supposed to be in the NIT discussion. So just getting this talk is exciting. But will be a big disappointment if we dont get in. But i got to say im impressed with this teams progression.

Technically there is still a chance, but I think this game was the nail in the coffin.

Yeah there is a chance but that means one of two things

1) We beat USCe and UK on the road
or
2) Win the SEC tourney

Me I just want to win 4-5 more and go to the NIT maybe we can go on a run in that tourney

In other words, it ain't happening.

It is unlikely, but we still very much have a chance. Even if we lose to SC and UK, we can get there. 13 loses does not kill us. Just need a couple wins in the tourney.

Welp

We are now 13-11 in the eyes of the committee..we probably don't beat UK or USCe on the road so that is 13 losses

And? 18-13 and we are probably still in.

Like I said you are off base. We don't have to finish 20-11 to go dancing which is what you said we'd have to do.

BTO will be in here later and he will echo what I'm saying.

Losing today made it harder but it didn't close the door at all. We go 4-2 down the stretch we are likely in.

If we go 4-2 and say 1-1 then we would be 18-14 in the eyes of the committee...not enough imo

If we finish 17-13, we'd finish with a loss in the SECT making 14 losses. (2011 article)
From the time the field expanded to 64 teams in 1985 until this year, a total of five at-large teams made the NCAA tournament with 14 losses. There are five at-large teams this season alone who reached the Big Dance with 14 losses.

14-loss at-large teams in the 2011 NCAA tournament

Marquette (20-14)

Tennessee (19-14

Michigan State (19-14)

Penn State (19-14)

USC (19-14)

14-loss at-large teams from 1985-2010

2008 Arizona (19-14)

2001 Georgia (16-14)

1991 Villanova (16-14)

1990 Villanova (18-14)

1990 Kansas State (17-14)
