Official Bubble Watch Thread

VCU
Oklahoma State
Virginia Tech
California
Iowa State
TCU

FWIW I feel like the above teams are pretty safe barring a collapse, the below teams have work to do...

Miami
Michigan
Michigan State
Kansas State
Arkansas
Seton Hall
Clemson
Georgia
Wake Forest
---------------------------
These teams need to "steal" 1 game IMO...

Tennessee
Marquette
Syracuse

These teams need to "steal 2 or more games IMO...

Ole Miss
Providence
Utah
Illinois State
Houston
Rhode Island
Georgetown
Indiana
Georgia Tech
Texas Tech

I was about to ask the same thing. I wouldn't consider beating any of the 4 remaining beatables (Mizzou, Vandy, LSU, Alabama) as stealing. SC is the only game left we can "steal".

And I don't think we necessarily have to steal the USCe game either. We felt like we needed 4-2 over the last six games. We are 0-1 so far. A loss to USCe would fulfill the second loss if we beat the others.

What does "steal a game" mean?

Sorry guys, should've either used a different word or explained it...

What I meant is that for example Tennessee is predicted to finish 16-14 meaning a 3-2 finish, however game by game they're favored in 4 of those...Sagarin's formula which they use doesn't have us favored by enough to those 4 for them to sweep all 4, basically they're predicting a loss in a game we are favored in. So when I say steal one I am meaning win 1 more than what's being predicted by these models, which in Tennessee's case is 3-2, so steal 1 meaning 4-1.

Thanks. I am with you

Wednesday's Games to Watch:

Arkansas vs. South Carolina
Xavier vs. Providence
Kansas State vs. Iowa State
Wichita State vs. Southern Illinois
Fordham vs. Rhode Island
Georgia Tech vs. Miami
Creighton vs. Seton Hall
Indiana vs. Minnesota
Oklahoma State vs. TCU
Illinois State vs. Missouri State

Kansas State/Iowa State & Georgia Tech/Miami are the 2 hardest "double bubble" games for me...

In the first one you wanna root for KSU because we did play and beat them, but also because ISU is not a lock for the dance. However, ISU is much safer than KSU and a loss tonight could very well result in a downward slide for them...I'm leaning towards pulling for ISU in this one.

In the second one you'd like to root for Georgia Tech because we also played and beat them, and also Miami is not safely in. However GT is currently out and a win against Miami could have the yellow jackets back in contention for a bid. A win by Miami esssntislly knocks out GT, but also increases Miami's chances of locking down a spot....I'm leaning GT on this one.

We are desperate for Kansas state to stay in the top 50. We have to hope they win

I don't know that desperate is the right word...I learned a few years back the committee doesn't literally draw a line at 50 and say nothing else is a good win, it's a bit subjective.

California is going to be interesting they are 18-7 and are predicted to go 20-10...RPI 33 SOS 38...they literally have 1 good win, USC(who I think loses their next 3 games) so they could finish with 0 good wins. Cuonzo has had 3 NBA players the last two seasons and has nothing to show for it.

They are in easily imo.

What 3 NBA players are on his team this year?

Ivan Rabb, Jabari Byrd and Jaylen Brown(drafted 3rd by Celtics) were all five star recruits...Charlie Moore high 4 star(97) top 100 player

He also had Tyrone Wallace drafted in 2nd round by the Jazz and Jordan Matthews who transferred to Georgetown this year
