It's my fave and apparently a lot of others also. I didn't realize they were going national

Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken announced recently that the Mid-South-based chain is going national, and in a new ranking by MSN of America's 50 Best Fried Chicken Spots, Gus's came out on top.
Gus's beat out other well-regarded sellers of crispy fowl like Willie Mae's Scotch House in New Orleans, Momofuku Noodle Bar in New York City and Prince’s Hot Chicken in Nashville.
In February, Gus's announced it is going national with a plan to nearly double its footprint. There are 10 locations currently open across four states, and eight future restaurants were announced Feb. 18.
Atlanta, St. Louis, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Chicago, Knoxville, Fort Worth and Kansas City will soon experience the renowned Southern comfort food the restaurant brand has provided for almost 60 years. A location is also being planned for Detroit.
