Official Debate Thread

I am losing hope for this country. In 30 minutes of analysis on Fox, not one person has mentioned Obama's "right" to healthcare answer. Absofreakinglutely amazing.

It's all about perception. They're trying to sway the voters who really are undecided to think "it's pretty much decided anyway", and to discourage the McCain supporters. It happened in '04 as well. I think the bailout has pretty much screwed McCain out of it, but you never know.

Seriously, Kerry, Gore and Hillary would all make a better president than Obama and that's saying something.

OK ! Just making sure I understood ! I haven't been around this forum and dont know what y'all have been talking about, but :idhitit:. Definitely...

Im just messing with ya man. I just think the VP debate was better, but that's just me, but she is still hot. :)

It is truly saddening that these are the two main candidates for the presidency. One wants to socialize healthcare the other wants to socialize the bad mortgages. It sickens me :pukeb: to think that either choice will aid in pushing this country closer to socialism. They are two sides of the same coin.

Sadly, McCain is not much better, but Obama will more than likely win because of the "change" factor.

What I got from the debate is both healthcare plans are awful and it is impossible to answer a question with a simple "yes" or "no". McCain came off as cranky and Obama danced around some of the questions. My vote didn't change, but I am not particularly impressed with either candidate.

Nothing new came out, and if you are still undecided at this point I wouldn't expect anything new to sway you in the next month. Undecided's at this point have basically proven they can't understand the differences and should just stay home on election day.

I change my mind about McCain barely winning, he is trash like OE says. Both of them are trash. Tonight was a presentation of ideas for this country, this is the best we have?

he'll win because of his absurdity about departing Iraq, which he can't get done and the very fortuitous timing of some very bad economic happenings. He ain't winning because of who he is or his faux change message.

sadly, the R outcome is in the hands of the redneck turnout.

I just don't see how McCain didn't come to the debate tonight with either a focused economic plan or just go for the Obama's throat. It was a very ho-hum performance.

how in the heck do the "undecided voters" sit there and listen for so long? at some point i would have had to pull my phone out and text somebody or check scores on the internet or anything to break up the monotony if sitting there and listening to them babble back and forth.

no thanks, even if it does mean i get my mug on national TV for 1.5 hours, shake both their hands, and ask Michele and Cindy if they want to get freaky across the street. i guess there was also no pre-gaming at the bar before hand? boooooooooooooooooorrrrrrrring.

I agree. I was sure we'd see an onside kick, instead McCain just took a knee. I won't be surprised to learn after all is said and done that he was really sick during all of this. What else could explain such a miserable campaign?

I did...Hannity looked caught off guard. Say what you will, but this guilt by asociation business is a pathetic hail mary pass to turn around the campaign.

Um no, it's reasonable to ask about him and other associations of Obama's. What he tried to do with Hannity was a reach, to put it mildly.

It is a hail mary . . . but I think it does have a little bit of validity in the case of Ayers. The Obama/Ayers connection is at least a little odd. It goes a little beyond guilt by association. They were closer than that.

As Colmes said, conservatives and Reagan appointees sat on the board...to put it midly, it would be a stretch to try and associate them with this guy too.
