Official Duke/UNC 2016-17 Thread

That would apply for the flopping and getting calls... But tripping guys on multiple occasions should be punishable no matter what school.

I agree, but it's magnified when you play at Duke. Everything is, whether it be for right or wrong reasons.

Allen is such a little *****. Sucks because I like watching him play, but he makes it impossible to like him. His face is even *****y.

I'm about as biased as possible and I honestly don't think it's a huge deal. Yeah, he clearly has an issue with tripping. Suspend him a few games, make it known it's not acceptable, and let's move on. Grayson is still young, and needs to just mature.

Kinda feel the same way. As a Duke fan, I don't think suspending him for 2-3 games does much since he's been dealing with an injury this whole season - think it just gives him more time to heal. If I were K, I would've suspended him 1 game and stripped him of his captaincy.

He's a spoilt brat who's probably had everything handed to him his whole life. If he's going to college, he needs to act like an adult and stop being a baby. No more excuses this time for tripping players on purpose. Time to take responsibilities for his own actions.

The FSU trip was dangerous, but for the most part, I'm with you. It's less about his actions and more about what his actions represent. It's like he's always gotten his way and if he doesn't get his way he will immediately sacrifice his integrity. He can't control it. It's like engrained in him. He needs to grow up, badly.

The whole lacrosse team, laettn

Laettner grew up on a farm and his parents were school teachers. Laettner was constantly provoked and fought back. He was nothing like Grayson Allen.

The lacrosse team was innocent and got railroaded by our corrupt criminal justice system. The 4 that were charged played the whole thing with a level of maturity I can't believe any college kid would have.

Wow. Really? You could've gone a lot of different directions in answering, but went in that direction. You clearly don't know **** about Duke. The fact that laettner was a senior 25 years ago doesn't doesn't really fall into the "nowadays" category.

Why was he so mad on the bench? Just because he got a technical foul (he deserved) in a game against Elon? He made a fool of himself.

He was mad at himself because he knew what he did and what was about to happen. He wasn't mad at the call or the player or the refs.

Impulse control problem? He's done each of his trips when he's gotten beaten defensively.

Not quite. More of a control problem when the game gets chippy. The first trip, he went up for a layup and got hit and no foul was called which led to a trip. The second, him and the FSU player had been going at it all game and the FSU player pulled Grayson into him which led Grayson to trip him (this one was on the FSU player as much as Grayson - why are you trying to run down the court with like 5 seconds left when the game is over off an inbounds pass?). The third, the game was starting to get pretty scrappy and that led to it.

The FSU player is just playing the game regardless of clock. I didn't watch the whole game but I didn't see why Grayson would want to trip someone who is just doing what he's supposed to do. Also, Grayson did the whole "oh I didn't mean to do it" shtick and even walked over like he wanted to help the FSU player up.

He wasn't just playing the game. There was a lot going on between the two throughout the game and he approached Grayson before the trip happened. When the game is out of reach with few seconds left no one is trying to run a fast break, they're trying to dribble it out. To be exact, there was 5 seconds left and Duke was up 15 and had the ball trying to dribble it out.
