Official Fire Dave Hart Petition..........

Sad situation and sad if he handled it poorly. Sounds like they botched the PR and HR elements of a needed change. Hopefully it doesn't cost the university big.

Yea I jus looked it up.. Sad really, he was a cocky SOB..but a hellova a QB

I'm too young to remember , but my dad was telling me about him at BYU. He said the best thing about BYU was seeing it in his rear view mirror. And that he showed up to his first press conference after he was drafted with a beer in his hand.

Pat apparently made the decision to step down on her own anyway. So Hart lacks a little bit of tact...not sure why the hell this is a Sports Illustrated news headline.

It dont sound that way:hi:

"When the suit was filed last week, university spokeswoman Margie Nichols told the Knoxville News-Sentinel the allegation involving Summitt "is absolutely not true. It was Pat's idea to be head coach emeritus."

Summitt's affidavit contradicts that: "This was very surprising to me and very hurtful as that was a decision I would have liked to have made on my own at the end of the season after consulting with my family, doctors, colleagues, and friends and not to be told this by Mr. Hart. I felt this was wrong."

But she then states he told her it was a misunderstanding. Whether that's true or not, by Pat's own statement, she clears him of the allegation.

Pat then decides to step down anyway. Non-story.

Worst case, we have an ass for an AD.

An AD not living in the past and making the tough, unpopular choices to move us forward...sign him to an extension! I love Pat like we all do on here but for all that she has done for our great school and state, ask yourself, was she the right person for the job moving forward? Legend or not, everyone has a moment in time where it's best to move forward and move on. Penn State didn't realize this. Glad that Hart and UT are.

Not to mention the political grenade I just lobbed into the debate.

Mods will have no idea where to put this. I vote the trash can.

I second that motion. All in favor of wadding this thread up and throwing it away forever say "aye"

I could let some of the women's stuff slide--don't care, whatever.

But not this. If this is true, and Hart told Summitt she was done (i.e., fired) before the season was even over, he's a low-grade clown.

He deserves to be at Alabama, not Tennessee.

This could get dicey, but I seriously doubt he truly forced her out. If he did, I don't necessarily have a problem with it, because her illness would turn the season into a circus. She also didn't do a whole lot last year on the bench, and Holly did most everything.

My only complaint is that hart didn't go after Matthew Mitchell. He will eventually end up here anyway.

You guys must be kidding... this is the most promising signal that we'll be getting a new football coach that I've seen.

If Pat is talking about the same AD, how in the heck did CDD keep his job after the UK game last year?

Talk about a dead man walking...

So maybe hart sat with her and maybe discussed if that was a possibility and she was taken aback cause he brought it before she could with the ones she wanted to. So he may have just threw it out there to have her think about it not force her out??? I can see the misunderstanding in that.

SN: I dated a girl a while back whose papaw was diagnosed a few months before her and I met. He passed about 3 yrs later, but she couldn't see him the last 6months or so cause he didn't know who she was and would hit on her as if she was a nurse....awkward. He started getting really fresh too. It was very sad for her to lose him that way and that was her last memories of him.

This what I don't get. During the GA game the announcer quoted Hart as saying something like the football program looked like it was headed in the right direction....And two plays later GA broke off a 70 yard TD. Maybe Hart just needs new glasses :matrix:

Why did Hart fire this other lady. Cutting dead weight? I know he has let a few people go that really served no purpose. Just asking. I really don't know , nor do I care to go searching.
